Thanks for being patient with us while we performed some updates.
Before asking any questions about how to do something, please click the FAQ link near the top of the board and read through the various answers.
If you then have a question, post it here.
Some features that are enabled now may be disabled later after we get a feel of how everything is working (and others now disabled may be enabled later).
We're going to use the next month as a learning process.
Also note that you can can give "props" for good posts and "boos" for bad posts with the "Rate Thread" feature.
Explore around, check out the new digs and please be patient with all of us as we, too, learn to find our way around.
Everyone who had signed up on the "old" ubb forum (not this one, but the old one) should be registered here already. Some of your post counts may be lower than before because the new forum only counted messages that had not been deleted in the last year or so.
Thanks for your patience!
Brett

Thanks so much for all the work. The new board looks great! I REALLY need this board since I live up near Chicago and can't stand all the Big 10 and Notre Dame garbage I get around here.
PS Is the system clock off or am I in some kind of time warp?
Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat. --- Theodore Roosevelt
To err is human, To forgive divine...neither are the U.S. Marines policy.......
Fads come and go, life begins and ends, but the TIDE is forever......
and it says 17/21 on the bottom of my post, how did that get there?..... I mean, I know what it means, as I have used it before, but did not think I used it here.....

was that your sig on the old board? i think mine was already saved and such
Rep power is the result of a formula that is based on the number of posts that you have plus how other folks "rate" you.
it's a bit complex but here's a simple version of how it is setup now. We may tweak this as we understand it more
you can affect other members ratings by clicking on the reputation icon that is to the left of the post warning icon (red triangle w/ !).
-An administrator gives/takes away 2 points with each click
-For every 1/2 year you are a member, you get 1 point of power
-For every 200 posts you have you get 1 point of power
-For every 100 points of reputation, you gain 1 point of power
-You must have 75 posts before your reputation hits count on others
-You must have a minimum of 10 points before your reputation counts on others
-You can only give 20 reputation clicks in a 24 hour period
-At least 20 different users must give you reputation hits before you can hit the same person again.
Well, I tried to click, "I disapprove" on both you
and powerlineman (although I don"t), since I could not do it to myself. Nothing happened....
if our reputation goes negative, do you ban us from the board....
or do we owe you a pint of blood or something.....
I will stop asking now..... RTR

I love the choice for the new forum, but I only have one problem, everything around the edges. I think pretty much everything you have can be implemented into a "normal" forum look.
