I looked at the list for the junior All-Star game. Some of those players were placed on there because of the coaches coaching in the game. Out of those players, who looks like they may be a "big time" recruit in Alabama next year?
Are there any other big time names we should look for out of the state of Alabama?
What does the Southeast look like for next year?
Maybe someone knows.
Thanks for the help.

It's still too early to tell what direction we will go next year. Of the ones on that list, I'd fully expect us to be involved with most of the kids from FL, MS, and AL.
Specifically, I haven't heard that much. I've heard that the OH QB Chris Smith has some interest in us. LB Marc Tyler of CA already has a Bama offer. AL DE Sidell Corley is pretty highly regarded as well.
When I watched the Nease/Hoover HS game on ESPN QB Ross Wilson and RB Dennis King both looked good to me. I have not heard much about any of the other players yet.
This marks the second December date for this in-state game, which had been played as a part of the annual All-Star Sports Week held each July until 2004 when renovations to Montgomery’s Cramton Bowl forced the move to Troy. Then the 2005 summer game was moved back to December of last year, also at Troy.
Bailey also announced that the game of 36-player squads will again feature high school juniors, following the pattern of all other current Sports Week all-star games. The game had featured graduated seniors since its inception in 1948 until the last December’s contest.
RTO, Ping, Surfer, and anyone else 'in the know'; are there any early indications as to who we should keep an eye out for regarding next year's class? I think next year's class will be just as important as this years as far as getting the talent level back up after probation.
As far as in state goes, what will Alabama be pumping out next year? OL, DE, LB, etc?
Last, what will be our main concerns for next year's class? It seems we are starting to rebuild our depth like we should, so maybe there isnt one single position we need to overstock next year? Maybe we can take a few from each position, and be very selective in doing so?
TIA

I'm hardly "in the know". I gather information from a couple of different recruiting sites and then do my best to keep those at this site up to date on what's happening if I can answer a question or two.
But, to answer your question about how many we will sign, I would have to know how many scholarship juniors we have on the squad. We only have 13 guys that were recruited scholarship guys who are juniors, and I would imagine we may have a couple more who were originally walkons that are now on scholly. No one likes to talk about it, but attrition is a part of the deal and you're destined to lose one or two guys (if not more) every off-season. So, taking all that into consideration, we probably won't be able to bring in more than 20 guys in the 2007 class. Like RTO said, that will allow us to be more selective in taking commits next year.
