Coach Moore, Let's Take the Names Off The Jerseys....

What do you think? Just watching USC and Notre Dame play tonight and noticed both teams still don't have names on the jerseys.....we are in that elite group. I say let's take the names off and go back(I know some of you are opposed to this) to total road white uniforms(white helmets)......We are better than most programs, why not do this to differentiate ourselves like SC and ND have???

No....... The names on the jersey's have "NOTHING" to do with us being in the elite. N.D. aren't in the elite, they "suck" as they always have like a&m, viles, awabarn and a few others that I could name.

I think Bama has the best lookin uniforms in the country and they look even better with their names on them.

The most ugly informs in the SEC are tenn. Orange shoes that have caused the announcesors and me thing there was a flag thrown and they have really big fonts for the short names and really thin fonts for the long names, which by the way you can't read. and closing this down, I have heard new recruits make the statements that that loved having their names on the backs of their jerseys.

The shoes were part of phat phils and the sec refs plan for the flag reason.

I see your point, delivery, and this is not a knock on you at all, but personally, I like the name on the jerseys, being that I have a hard enough time with names.

I don't have much problem with the names on the jerseys either, but about once a year I catch myself thinking about the white uniforms and helmets.

I've allways like the names on the unies. I think we have some of the best looking unies in the nation and don't need changing. I have never liked the white helmets, they look like crap, seem to make the team look like some division II school. I notice Oklahoma played a game in white helmets and they looked like crap too. Notre Dame, and USC should put names or something on their unies to make them look a little better. Both looked kinda mundain.

USC is one of those schools that could use a uniform change. Their look has always looked like crap. Neutered Dumb's classic look at least looks classic. Neither of them compare to the Tide. Look in Division I-AA at Georgia Southern to find the next best looking uni to Alabama.

At first, I was gonna reply with a HUGE "no"...cuz when I was a kid and none of the 'Bama guys had names on the back I was always confused (I guess my dad never showed me how to read a roster

)...BUT of course, unless you're right up close (or watching on TV), you can't see the text anyway...

BUT, I kinda like 'em there and I really see no reason to have the names removed...

I agee with you 100 %.... The white helmits look awful...

I know that some of you guys would remember the days Coach Bryant had the QB and the WR's wearing white helmits, everybody else wore the Crimson. They stopped that eventually, because it was not uniform..

Leave the names on. I sure cant remember all the numbers and it makes it a little easier keeping track of who is doing what.

The Bama FB uniforms have no As, UA or Bama on them now. Just the colors. That seems plain enough to me...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but prior to 1992, Alabama had never won a national championship with the names on the jerseys.

Taking the names off the jerseys is a sacrifice the players voluntarily make for the sake of the team. It's no longer about "me," the player says. It's about playing with 21 other men who are making the same sacrifice I am.

I'm for it.

:biga2: Not me - -I like our unis just the way they are - I don't care where you are or what you are doing - when you see the Crimson and White unis and the CRIMSON HELMET WITH THE WHITE STRIPE AND NUMBER you know it is the mighty Crimson Tide you are looking at - same goes for the White unis. :biga2:
