Will we put a spy on Russell?

To my knowledge we haven't really played anyone with a QB like JR this year. I know Chris Leak could run, but he's not the athlete JR is. Do we place a spy on him like we did with Roach on Norwood last weekend?

To my knowledge and what I have heard, he's pretty slow even though he can move out of the pocket, hard to bring down, cannon of an arm, and reasonably accurate, but doesn't make very good decisions. He's not Vince Young. He's more along the lines of Jared Lorenzen, just a bit more mobile and prolly the strongest arm in the SEC, with a throw it up and see who catches it mindset.

Based on the LSU games I have seen this year, I don't think Russell likes to run. Whenever he had a wide open field to pick up 10-20 yds., he would instead chose to wait on open receiver.

As others have stated, Russell is not a 'dual threat' QB in the sense that you need a spy on him. He's not a Vick.

I'd try to make LSU drive the field and not give up any big plays. Keep everything in front of us. I dont think LSU can have 9 or 10 play drives with out turning the ball over. I wouldn't be suprised to see a lot of the 3-3-5. I'm more worried about that their TB. Besides the bowl game last year LSU was the only team that was able to run on us. I'd also bet that they will try to play smashmouth football. With our struggles on O and the way LSU plays D I wouldn't throw the ball all over the field if I was them.

I agree with you analysis. Sounds right on the money to me. Hope Miles doesn't know this.
