Arkansas, the refs, and everything else that just happened. That was a absolute horribly officiated game. Also, did I mention that I hate Arkansass...I just ripped my white T-shirt and punched my wall in my house. I am about to explode in anger

Does anyone else fell as I do

Let me put it this way.

I am studying for my two tests tomorrow, so I had the TV on mute and glanced at the game now and then, and watched the score of course.

Many MANY times, when Bama had the ball in the post, I saw something and immediately expected there to be a whistle. And then I saw the transition game.

What the heck.

unbelievable, this was just beyond belief, I honestly don't remember ever being this angry about the refs and that's saying something cause I'm always angry with the refs.

tough loss

This team fell apart in the last 10 minutes, period. The officiating didn't surprise me at all, but you can't forget how to pass the ball, rebound, or box out with 10 minutes left in a game and except to win. Sucks that we have played our way off the bubble just to be put back on it again. 15-10? We are better than that- really need to beat UF (not feeling good about that one though). Auburn will be a blood bath, MSU will put up a fight but we should survive that one as well. 10-6 in SEC play. That should do the trick- although 11-5 just might snag us a 7 seed, I guess we will have to wait and see.

Early in the game (I think still in the 1st half) when Arkansas switched to a zone with Davidson, Brock, Hendrix, Steele, and Gee (I think, maybe Felix), Arkansas went on a 9-2 run or better. The zone was a good move against this line-up because of the lack of outside shooters. This little run and the Bama meltdown during the last 3.5 minutes gave Arkansas the game. If Bama could have snagged a couple of defensive rebounds during the last 1.5 minutes it would have probably sealed the game. :frown:

I think...

the team got frustrated, and I can't really blame them. Not that it gives them a free pass. I agree with most of what you've said. They could have dealt with being mugged a bit better...

I've calmed down a bit, still very mad at the officiating, but I'm happy with the guy's effort. I mean we could have easily won the game against a good team that had to have a win, on the road, with a loud crowd and bad officiating. I love this team, I've said it before and I'll keep on saying it, and a split with Tenn at home and UARK on the road isn't bad.

The only guy that we didn't get much out of was Hendrix, although he had about 4 point blank shots that he got mauled on with no call...ok I'll stop.

Not taking away from Arkansas' effort either, they played very hard, so hard in fact that they fouled the crap out of us nearly every time down. I was lying when I said I would stop complaining.

Do you think Stan Heath walked out early on his press conference tonight like he did after the last Bama game?

You'd think not but maybe he did because he had to catch up with 3 of his buddies.

Hard to get defensive rebounds in the last minute and a half when you are being pushed, pulled, and beaten under the goal with no fouls.

Just more of the same in the SEC. The Home team goes to the line 20+ times, and the away team around 10 regardless of the fouls that were actually committed. It's happened in just about every significant matchup so far this year. The LSU/Bama games were skewed to opposite ends of the spectrum at each venue... and I guarantee if you visit woopig.net you'll find a thread about the Ark/Ala game in Tuscaloosa complaining about the officiating.

That's why playing away games in this league is maybe more significant than other conferences. I'd be interested to look at ACC and Big East games to see on average how many times the home vs away team went to the FT line.

It's a shame for our players. To work as hard as they did and have the game stolen from them by the officials is a disgrace. If it wouldn't have been for the officials, we would have blown arkansas out.

As usual, the SEC proves it has the most inept (or corupt) officiating on the planet.

I blame....

the officials and Evan Brock. I mean how can you be the son of a Harlem Globetrotter and NOT know how to dribble the ball. Also, Evan does NOT need to be trying to take the ball into the lane and try a jump shot. Evan Brock does NOT need to take 9 shot attempts in a game. Never, ever ever ever......

Player bashing?

He did just fine except one he fumbled oout of bounds. That didn't lose the game.

He's been taking the ball into the lane like that the last few games. Everybody needs to look to score some playing only 7.

Ordinarily...

I'd edit or delete this thread title as a "teaser." However, I knew everyone could look at it and know exactly what it was about... :D

Lay off Evan

He plays as hard every time out. I'll take a player with hustle, desire, determination and energy everyday of the week like Evan over someone who has potential but does not give the effort we see out of # 21. He is not the reason we lost this game.

I'm not player bashing...

I just think that Evan needs to realize that he does not have the ability to score unless he is going to dunk the ball. Sure I think everyone needs to get involved more, but if you are looking for Evan to be the one then you will get a 2 of 9 performance every night. Since when has Evan Brock been known as a scorer? We all know his role on this team: defense and high flying dunks... that's it. And the comment about his lack of ability to dribble applies to his whole career at Alabama... not just last night.

I Agree. Great kid, but don't want the ball in his hands unless they're throwing an oop.

Over the past 3 or 4 games Evan Brock has consistently made those same jumpers he was taking last night. We didn't lose the game because of Evan's shooting.
