I'll restate what I said a few months ago about Iran - If something must be done, let it be done by Israel. Even if Iran had the means to produce a bomb today, they do not have the means to deliver it to the US in a way that would be terribly damaging. Simply stated, they do not have the missle technology, which is much more complicated than nuclear weaponry.
There are many other ways to deliver a nuclear weapon other than a missile, like say a boat traveling up the Potomac.

However, I think that Israel may be the first target of Iran's nukes. Either way, it's not a situation I'm particularly thrilled to have to deal with.

Clinton's BJ in the Oval Office hallway didn't amount to a mild expulsion of stomach gas compared to the tornado of events and decisions wherein Dubya brought shame and ridicule upon this nation.

He's tapping your phones. He's holding prisoners in Cuba without access counsel and without charges being brought...FOR FOUR YEARS!!! He's squandering you children's wealth on a nation-building effort that he was led to by his religious beliefs, and which he and Cheney and Rumsfeld and that gang had in mind before he ever was appointed president by a conservative supreme court; and which they have bungled and screwed up to the point of causing a civil war. He finally, after screaming and kicking all the way, signed a bill outlawing torture, but he made a signing statement that it didn't really apply to him. He thinks science is gobbldegook and appoints idealogues to positions of oversight on scientific research. He and his neocon oil millionaire cronies have pushed every EPA restriction on pollution of our air and water to the farthest limits possible and put the polluters in charge of regulation. The national debt is higher than it has ever been in the history of this nation. The list is long and growing...this is not half of it.

Clinton erased the deficit in five years and reduced the size of government. He initiated the most sweeping changes to welfare in history. By the time he left office the federal government was running the largest surplusses ever seen in the history of this nation; a surplus that Dubya erased in the first two years of his first term.

Clinton was impeached by a congress controlled by the opposition party, and investigated by a political enemy appointed by that conservative body; neither of these shamefully wasteful and vindictive actions produced a charge against him.

Dubya was appointed to the presidency after losing the popular vote. He raised the religious right to the status of a cabinet department and courted Jerry Falwell, a man who should certainly be confined to a rubber room.

You are concerned about the shame that Bill Clinton brought to the White House? Have you been asleep for six years?

Did I say anything about the White Owl? Nope but you're so sensitive about Billy boy the canned statement just slipped out....... I can't go in to all his blunders so I'll just go over my hit parade.

If we want to make points it was not always about Billy boys actions as much as his inactions that have brought us to where we were when he left office......
The Cole comes to mind, he allowed our sailors to be murdered and then was bold enough to lob a cruise missle at an abandoned training base yep that showed them..... it emboldened the fanatics enough to plan and carry out various terrorist action through out the world and I won't even mention 911.

Afghanastan I don't even want to get started about that.

He also had a chance to take Bin Laden out but that's another story.

His overall inaction produced the climate we have in the middle east today.

His Vice president taking massive campaign contributions from a froiegn government......

I really don't have the time or inclination to lists all his action/blunders but I will leave you with one name Marc Rich the rest on the link all 140 of them: Clintons wall of shame

I will however address a couple of your points: First they're are known as prisoners of War you can wail and moan as much as you want it won't change the fact they have very few rights deservedly and so.

Has you phone been tapped? Anyone you know have had their phone tapped?
If their actions are illegal why have no charges been filed?

You really want to talk about appointments? (My personal favorite)Hillary on health Care, Jocylen Elders Surgeon General inspired choice here, Henry Cisneros should have gone to jail or sorry was until Billy pardoned him, Donna Shalala so far in lala land she even spells her name that way, again I could go on

I don't even have to expound on this one......Clinton popular vote
United States presidential election, 1996 - Wikipedia, the free ...This would make Clinton the first two-term president since Woodrow Wilson to win both of his elections with under 50 percent of the national popular vote.

Not to mention he did not inhale and he never did coke he just liked the smell...

Also the French liked him and that's enough in itself to make me disike him.

His liberal socialism left a mark on this country that will not soon be forgotten or recoverd from. Not to mention the shame, were you sir asleep for 8 years?

Look demonizing any President past or present accomplishes little or nothing but if it makes you feel better rage on, but I am seeing the same behavior from the Dems that they accused the Repubs at the end of Billy's term and how they both squealed. W is here for two more years and the fact of the matter if the Dems don't straighten out their act you're gonna have at least 4 more years of a Republican White House (Oh perish the thought).

I don't give a rip whether the next president is Republican, Democrat, or National Socialist. I just want a man who listens to the moderate voices in this republic, and who is more concerned with the power of the electorate than with his own, or his party's.

If you put the blame for the USS Cole directly on Clinton's shoulders, then you have to say that the 2000 plus who died at the WTC are directly attributable to Dubya....then throw in the 20,000 US casualties in Iraq.

While you're at it, chalk up the Lebanon Marine deaths to Reagan.

All leaders make mistakes. Clinton's mistakes didn't get us into a second Vietnam.

To be fair, you first started the demonizing calling the clinton admin. liberal clowns. Dont try and make bobstod out to be the raging ranter. Additionally, you took plenty of time to point out the problems you had with Clinton, but not an acknowledgement of the facts bobstod listed in relation to the surplus, etc. When justified criticism of GWB is brought, democrats are focusing on the negative. Hello coffee, this is the kettle. Your black.

I thought that this thread was about Iran? Iran's leaders are intentionally trying to provoke an attack right now. I, for one, hope that they are successful. I am ready to face my maker. We cannot let despot rulers spit in the face of the rest of the world.

I find myself fighting racist thoughts for the first time in my life...

How is a clown a demon? a bafoon maybe but not a demon... Justified in your eyes makes it justified?
Also "I am constantly amazed at how this administration piles error upon error and incompetency upon stupidity and still commands the loyalty and support of some fraction of the population." and this is polite rebuttal?
I then made my statement using emoticons and come back to find a rant...
now What's up coffee?

Oh I beg to differ, Clinton's mistakes are why we are where we are now, if he'd taken care of business in Afghanastn when he should have there would have been no USS Cole, no 911 and chances are we'd not be in Iraq today.
So following your logic he's responsible for the over 20,000 US causualties.
And yes his mistakes did indeed get us into a "Second Vietnam"

One thing I do agree with you on, we all deserve better leaders that we've been getting regardless of party.......... or is it that what apathy is giving us? what we ask for?

Old habits are hard to break and too many Americans are so full of hate that they don't recognize it as such...

Time for "Qum bay yah" lol don't think so.
I hate no one or any group.

I came to this forum and was a bit surprised at all the partisan #$#$#ing and moaning and no one challenging it. I am sure bobstod is a fine upstanding gentleman and patriot to boot don't know him and it is no way personal, but I will call someone when they offend or degrade someone or group and I consider it to be wrong, it is his right to do so and my right to do so. But I call a spade a spade and it if offends someone then let it be so but it is not my intention.
I have actively defended this country for the last 25 years and continue to do so today. This is exactly why I have have done it so we can disagree.

Everyone on this boad has one saving grace and that they're Bama Fans everthing else is minusha....

First off, I don't think Iran's leader is trying to provoke an attack. I think he is trying to garner a few bargaining chips for when the game starts to get more serious.

Secondly, I am apalled that one with your intelligence would hope for the opening of another Pandora's Box in the middle east. This is CLEARLY a time for the US to sit back and encourage other interested nations to intervene, diplomatically or economically. George Bush has a superinflated ego. He has never been worth a continental **** at diplomacy, and ruined Colin Powell, who could have done a great job of it with the proper leadership from above.
