Thanks for the updates RTO, we can only hope for an above avg. year on the field to help pull some of the listed players over.

P.S. would be nice to get Pryor down to a least show him around and talk some football with the staff, but I do like what I have been hearing about Star Jackson hope his grades look good.

I had Jercico Nelson listed as an athlete prospect but since CNS has offered him as a safety I moved him to DB prospects. He has camped at Alabama and Miami and has offers from Alabama, Florida, LSU, and Miami. He lists his top five as Miami, Alabama, LSU, Florida, and USC.

Surf, I've noticed you're no longer putting Pryor on the list. Are you taking a wait and see approach (i.e. if he visits) before including him again?

Well, I have heard through a thick grapevine that he has dropped Alabama as a school of interest. Most analysts believe Alabama will not make his next cut coming up soon. It looks like OSU is the team to beat. If he does include Alabama in his favorites after his next cut I will gladly add him back in as a prospect with interest. It just looks like a long, long shot to me at this time. Hopefully I am wrong. I have been before. ;)

EDIT: Now Tide Sports is reporting that Pryor is scheduled to visit Alabama later in the month. That is surprising coming from them since Bama Mag doesn't even have Pryor on the Alabama prospects list. I put Pryor back in the Commitments and Prospects list and hopefully he will visit and seriously consider Alabama.

Yeah I figured from the beginning our chances with him were very slim to none with the slim just barely being on the other side of the none! Thanks for the info.

Four star RB Darius Willis, one of the top tailbacks in the Midwest is looking at Alabama. He lists his favorites as Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, who have offered along with Michigan, Tennessee, Alabama and Notre Dame who have not offered.

Good job Surf, RTO.

I really like the format of committed, offered, and then prospects. Very easy read. Thanks.

That is regrettable, but it only makes me like our chances more with Star Jackson. From what I read in his last interview on BOL he is pretty high on us.

He may be the dual threat QB we have been waiting for. Looks like a serious prospect that can only get better.

Well that's the plus side of being after many good prospects at the same position. I've been very high on Jackson since I first saw film of him, he's by no means a consolation prize (so to speak) IMO by any means. He's got a ton of upside and I would really like to see him wind up at UA.

Re: 2008 Alabama Commitments and Prospects List (Revised & Updated)

These questions didn't seem to go to one of the more recent threads below so thought I would ask them here.
1) Was anyone surprised/disappointed that our first set of camps didn't land us a committment?
2) Have the list of who all will be attending the July camps been released? If so, are there any names that jump out as someone who might pull the trigger?

1). Not really. We are being really, really "picky" the rest of the way after the "we might need to slow down" comment from Cignetti a month or so ago. It's the cream of the crop the rest of the way.

2). No. The two making the most noise right now would be Star Jackson and his OL Looney.

The guys that committed right out of the gate deserve a pat on the back and the guys that may not be as good as they think they are and really love Bama but want to 'play the recruiting game' may be disappointed come next Feb. Hopefully the class of '08 will learn from the ones who came before them. Of course, I guess there will always be a few who have an inflated opinion of themselves.

Scout shows that we have offered this big fella. Terrence Cody 6'5 385 lbs. He would obviously need to shed some pounds, but I think a quality JUCO player for our NG position isn't such a bad thought where we are right now. He has some impressive strength numbers also.

Not the fastest guy in the world is he? Put I don't suppose a 40 time is that important when you're collapsing the interior of the offensive line.;)
