Look i know this was a terrible loss and all. But i find it inexcusable to Boo your own team. I don't care how bad the loss is or who we are losing too. I don't care if we were 2-9 like Notre dame you don't boo 19-20-21 year old kids playing a game of football.

Re: Sick of Boobirds

Everyone group of fans has their breaking point and we reached ours today. I bet Coach Saban won't say a word about it either.

Re: Sick of Boobirds

While I see your point of view and agree to a point, if you have played any high-level athletics and are honest with yourself, you know deep down when you have put forth your best effort as an individual and a team. If I had played like that today, I would be the first one to tell you it was deserved. I would probably even boo myself. I played HS and collegiate basketball and I could not sleep, eat, drink, or hardly function if something like what happened today happened to me and my team. That is one thing that is wrong with us as a nation is that we have turned into a bunch of puds and want to be PC with everyone. If something is good, then applaud but don't sugarcoat it when it is not good for fear of hurting someones feelings or whatever.

Well im sure if they knew how much you wanted them to win they would have tried harder. :p_eyes: what about guys like Mustin and gillberry who played there guts out just to walk off the field of there last home game to there fans booing them. I really don't care what the fan bases breaking point is its about having class.

It is also classy to speak the truth...I am old enough to remember hearing it a lot from Coach Bryant which is a valuable lesson of life I learned from him.

If booing hurt some folks feelings today, maybe they need a tougher skin...there are a lot worse things that happen in life that you need to learn to deal with. I just wish I was young enough to play ball again and have half the chance some young people do today.

Re: Sick of Boobirds

It was sad to hear. Even though I may have felt like joining in, there's no way I could bring myself to do it. I may question a coaching decision and certainly have booed a ref or two (hundred), but those are our boys and even though we didn't get the outcome anyone wanted, them included, I still appreciate them. It had to be hard for the seniors to leave the field under those circumstances.

I never miss a game, home or away and I NEVER Boo MY team!!!! I tell you this, any idiot that actually THINKS booing your own boys will make them do better needs to get their head examined.

Re: Sick of Boobirds

If I played that bad, I'd expect to get boo'd.
AMEN. Knowing it wasn't all left on the field today prompted the boo birds. I would not have booed but understand the fans. The fans saw the lack of effort on the field. Should they have booed? No, but their hearts were broken knowing BAMA failed to show up two weeks straight. Had the effort been there this would not be a topic of discussion. :BigA:

Roll Tide Roll as Always. There are no bandwagon fans at Alabama. We win and lose as one. Today we lose.

Re: Sick of Boobirds

i'm a boobird because it's embarassing to be beat by a team that we should destroy. secondly, our team did not come to play they were out played by a div. II caliber team- you can keep you head in the sand if you want but i'm tired of being a second class football team so they deserve being booed.

If Bama was down 100-0 to UAB at halftime and came back out of the tunnel eating ice cream cones is when I would start booing. I know deep down that I too have a breaking point.

Re: Sick of Boobirds

I can't blame the fans for booing today. It's one thing to play like they did against LSU and lose. It's another to play like they did against ULM and lose.

I hope that losing at Alabama never becomes acceptable, but sometimes you get beat by a better team like what happened against LSU. They fought hard against LSU and played their tails off. That was clearly not the case today.

If the players want to shut the boo-birds up, I think they know how to do it. What happened today at BDS was unacceptable. I can't blame anyone for booing at today's game.

Its embarassing, yes, but I would never boo my team. We sounded like Auburn at the Mississippi State game. I heard that on TV and was embarrassed for my husband that he had to be associated with such craptastic fans. I was at the game today (and I was mad and yelling) and I was much more embarrassed by the fans than by the football team. And you are not on the football team. They don't need your boos to feel bad about themselves.

Re: Sick of Boobirds

I remember the good old days when fans were too classy to boo. Of course, the team didn't get it's hat handed to them on our home field either but still. And breaking point, shmaking point, it shows a lack of maturity and class on the part of the fans doing the booing. I hated it today and I hated it last year when we played Duke. I understand the frustration but the booing is just idiotic and embarrassing.

Re: Sick of Boobirds

I thought this reminded me of when GA played FLA this year and stormed the field after the TD. I was actually laughing when they did it and said "Good for them" to get fired up.

Then I thought what if it were Bama.... Well, I would have been embarrassed.

In other words, it's OK for another team to do it, but not Alabama. We're better than that.
