re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

A few days ago you might have me a little worried but people like BET, LCN and CS have hardened my mind on rumors like this......and I will take your advice (take it for its worth) which is nil......TR to Bama on 4 Feb, mark your LSU calendar and prepare yourself for disappointment:)

TR not coming LSU really would not be that big of a disappointment to LSU fans....it would be an awesome bonus if he did but not a disappointment if he didn't. We were never really expecting him in the first place and FWIW I think he sticks with his commitment to Bama. Would be a stellar pickup though if we could swing him at the last second! RR not coming would be a dissapointment however. I know how it is though....we had and are kind of still going through this same scenario with Janzen Jackson but he seems to have made his commitment a little more solid this past week. These kids will make a grown man sweat!

re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

Dandy Don is reporting that Trent Richardson de-committed yesterday, and that he thinks he will eventually sign with LSU. He doesn't state it, but his source is a local radio show from yesterday, where a guy named "Big Ragoo" called in and said Richardson de-committed (and yes that should tell you all you need to know about DD's "sources").

Anyway, don't panic, it's your typical Dandy Don garbage. And the other funny thing about it is a couple of lines later he mentions Byron Moore as being one of the guys legitimately left on the board for LSU who they could sign, but of course he fails to mention Moore eliminated them yesterday.

Seriously, though, Urban Meyer and the Florida running backs coach did go up to Pensacola last night to meet with Richardson. They are still pursuing him very hard, and if something does happen, it will be with the Gators. Keep in mind that I don't think he'll renege on Alabama regardless, but I think we can say that if he does it will be with Florida, and not LSU. Despite what Dandy Don may have thought up, Richardson has made it pretty clear with his comments that while he enjoyed LSU, it's no Florida.

Not only that, the ALABAMA RECRUITING board. There are many other boards out there saying things YOU want to hear, so GO there. Me I go here for unbiased opinions. Don't believe me? Well, I don't like hearing that we may not land Rueben Randle, Greg Reid, maybe not Pat Patterson, this guys looking here, another considering there. Wait a minute...dude, are you even reading this board??? :)

Maybe you should decommit from posting anymore on this board, until you appreciate its purpose and tone. I like you better as a reader.

re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

We're going to have another in-home visit with Richardson on Thursday night. I'm not sure if Saban will be there, but I think we are going to send a slew of assistants, such as McElwain (OC), Burns (RB coach), and James Willis (recruited Richardson at Auburn).

That's good news, IMO. He has visited LSU, Meyer and company have came in for the in-home visit, but we will be the ones getting the last word in with him. He'll be going to FSU on Friday -- and no one expects them to be a legitimate player -- and the dead period starts on Monday, so our in-home visit will really be the last word with him.

Some more positive news... Trent's high school coach said the other day, something to the effect of, "Trent always comes back to Alabama."

BET, thanks for the added info. Some of us will probably be biting our nails to the last minute over Trent, but i think in the end we get him.

re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

More news...

After his six-hour in-home visit with Urban Meyer and the Florida running backs coach, Richardson's advisor, Derrick Boyd (an assistant at Escambia) said that Richardson did not de-commit, but that he felt things were a "dead heat" after the in-home visit.

I would, of course, love to hear something like, "Florida and LSU both suck, I'm wasting their time," but I cannot say any of this is surprising. We all knew Trent was going to have drama surrounding his signing, and we've known that for months now, but I'm not too worried about it.

Even if you go the route that we are truly dead even right now, we still get the final word Thursday night when McElwain, Burns, and Willis head to Escambia for their six-hour-ish visit. I still think Trent is pretty firm with us and all of this is really just designed to create hype and attention, but even if not, we should gain on the Gators when we visit him on Thursday, and considering that should be the last word, that should put us over the top. And furthermore, it also says a lot, I think, that he is giving the Alabama staff the final say.

Well at least we have a credible report by Richardson's HS advisor Derrick Boyd stating that the Dandy Don reported "Big Ragoo rumor" that Richardson had de-committed from Alabama is not true. lol

I've tried to tell y'all there is A LOT going on behind the scenes, right now.

Thankfully, "he keeps coming back to Bama."

re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

If you look at Richardson's profile on Scout.com, and the Tennessee official visit list, it shows Richardson as going to Knoxville this weekend to take an official visit.

Now all of the other stuff didn't bother me, but this does. If this turns out to be true, this is not good news. I don't think he'll go to Tennessee either way, mind you, but taking a visit to Tennessee after the Thompson bit is not wanted Saban wanted any of our commitments to do.

According to Rivals latest report on Richardson today on BOL Escambia coach Jimmie Nichols says that TR is going to FSU for his last visit. That Scout.com report is in error.

Coach Nichols also completely dispells the laughable "Big Ragoo rumor." He said that TR liked Florida better than LSU but Trent always comes back to Alabama..

I have said all along the team to worry about down the stretch is UF. I still however believe that Richardson will sign with Bama on NSD no matter what Big Ragoo says. The bottom line is Trent Richardson is still committed to Bama. ;)

re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

Yeah, he's not going to UT this weekend he's headed to FSU. I think Coach Bowden and Fisher are either at his HS today or tomorrow to visit with him too all day.

And I wonder how many lies Urban spewed out during those 6 hours, lol. I bet he threw every RB they have and have had in his tenure under the bus to pretend like Trent will fit in there and that he'll play immediately over Rainey and Demps. In fact, forget playing over them in the depth chart, he probably said both will transfer out :D. And that "big back" he needed so badly, Moody, probably had walking pneumonia throughout the season and it prevented him from filling that role last year.

re: RB Trent Richardson Update (1/27): Info from the LSU visit & UF in-home visit

My head hurts.

I still feel TR is going to the Capstone. This is the TR pattern: He visits others. He says nice things about others. He says he has a lot to think over. He says something that makes everyone have ???? go through their head. He stays committed to Alabama. I think the last constant in that pattern says something.
