Every mock draft or draft analysis says other OTs in this draft may be safer than Andre because they do not have the character issues that he does. I know he missed the Sugar Bowl because of the agent deal, but does he have any other issues? I don't think so and have never heard of any. I think this is just "draft experts" looking at the agent incident, which I believe turned out to be a result of a family member's actions, and not doing their other homework on Andre. He has never gotten any trouble and hasn't he already graduated? What do you think about this situation?

I've never personally heard anything to indict Big Andre's character. However, all these draft "experts" are always trying to rerank according to the "intangibles" that they believe will affect someone's performance in the League. Some of them may simply be looking at Andre's family, since one particular member was the cause of the agent fiasco, and think that the people surrounding him are trouble. As a result, they may perceive that he is bringing in external baggage that could possibly be a liability. I don't believe that is the case with Andre, but I think it fits the scewed reasoning of some of these wierdos that make money by reading tea leaves.

I have no idea of what really happened with Andre concerning the agent thing, but I haven't heard anything that would lead me to believe that there are any issues involving character with AS. Not that I'm any kind of insider though.

The only "issues" I could think of are his unhealthy desire for domination towards anyone lining up opposite from him, his absolute anger towards opposing defensive backs, and the overwhelming aggressive contact delivered to pursuing defensive ends on reverses. To counter all that, I have seen him cradle a football like a baby in the hands of an angel and gently deliver it to the endzone.

I guess I could see how there would be concerns of him being drafted to play OL in the NFL with these "issues".

I think the character issues only relate to the agent thing. I haven't read or heard about any problems AS had on campus. Personally, I don't think the character issue is a problem with Andre; I think keeping weight off is a bigger concern, but that can be alleviated by professional nutrionists that'll be available to him.

I don't know of any character issues with Andre, and there may not be much more than the Sugar Bowl situation, but you never know. I've seen a lot of kids come out who you thought were model citizens that turned out to have a lot of character issues once the NFL teams really start investigating their backgrounds.

Take Early Doucet last year. He always seemed a great kid to me, and then when he turned pro the background checks dug up two kids by two different women, with two more outstanding paternity tests on the way. The same goes for McFadden with his multiple paternity tests and bar arrests.

Truth be told, it's hard to say sometimes. A lot of what happens off the field never gets reported. In all honesty, you never really know as much about a lot of these kids as you think you do. Only time will tell, I suppose.

I, for one, look forward to the day when something, anything is said concerning what happened prior to the Sugar Bowl. I am a big fan of Andre and wish him a long, healthy, and financially lucrative NFL career. But I still want to know "What the hell happened"?

I do, too, but honestly we may never know. Neither Saban nor anyone else in the athletic department, or on the team, will be going on the record, so unless Andre wants to come out himself with the truth, we may never know.

Character issues? We are talking about the NFL, right? What a joke. When did the NFL start worrying about character issues?

The way these things normally shake out is how well Andre will handle his interviews with the Top 5 teams when he interviews. Detroit, St. Louis, Kansas City, Seattle, Cleveland. Of those 5, the only two who have room to be picky are Cleveland because they have a huge investment tied up in a young, very good LT in Joe Thomas and maybe Seattle, but Walter Jones's best years are maybe behind him. So Andre will be fine. He's going top 4, and he'll be a considerably wealthy young man.

I think it's laughable. We've certainly had kids who were drafted who would fit that category, but there was plenty of warning. This was a complete anomaly with Andre'.

I've seen him slipping in the mock drafts to. Can't figure it out myself. Did he eat a few small children?

Good for him maybe he'll land a decent team instead.

I was digging around yesterday for some info on Glen Coffee's chances and came across one mock draft that said that about AS. I took it as a potshot by a rival fan. Most of the mocks have him as one of the top two OL. All of them have the top OL taken within the first four picks (usually first or second) with the second OL taken within the first ten to twelve picks.

AS will be fine.

I agree. For those of you who get something out of the NFL, good for you. Personally, I don't have any respect for the league. I realize that there are many respectable players in the NFL and I don't want to brand everyone with the same iron, but the league's tolerance of criminal behavior gives the sport a bad name. Who do they think they are, Congress?

Could they be referring to the agent thing and the text-book suspension from last season. I can't remember if he was one of the 5.

This is not meant to say I think he had any issues. I am a huge supporter of the big guy, and think any NFL team should jump at the opportunity to land AS.

:BigA: I dont think Andre has character issues!! Why should anyone think he does? He done a very nice job for the University and brought a lot of recogination. I hate he did not get to play in the bowl game but the kid is a class act! If he does have character issues he would blend in very nicely in the NFL! The NFL team that gets him will have a gem of a player!

If you look at all these "experts" (ex something that was and spert a fast drip) they seem to favor Big Ten, ND and USC teams because they watch them more than other conferences. However, when it comes down to selection time, the teams go to the SEC for the real talent.

It will be a total crock if AS loses a bunch of money because of perceived character issues.

I agree. AS looks like a choir boy compared to some of the characters in the NFL. The only league more disgusting is the NBA; it is riddled with scum.
