Lots of hype..i hope both teams come in unbeaten..(bama does have to deal with penn state and arky first) ....the last two national championship teams facing off in a setting that is unfamiliar for them to meet.....the regular season....alabama and florida is a rivalry that people never talk about when they speak of sec rivalries. probably because of the fact that the two teams don't play often in the regular season. But if you look at all the times BAMA and UF have locked up in the title game it is actually a very intriguing rivalry. The rivalry is based on titles not state bragging rights.

I'm betting that Bama fans are looking forward to it more than Gator fans. I'm not among those that think that they are back to being sorta ordinary because TT has moved on. Brantley will do a good job for them at QB, but I still like our chances, a lot. :)

I've got ALOT of worrying to do before that game. Penn State is going to be tough, as is Arkansas.

It ought to be fun though.

In one of the few good wins under Schula we hammered the Gators. I cant research it because I am at work but I think that was the last time we played the i the regular season 2005. That was the game Prothro had that nasty injury that he never came back from. But I dont expect much out of the Gators. They may win the East but I expect the East to be weaker next year.

I'm worried about San Jose State. It's the next game on the schedule. We need to focus on beating them into a muddy hole first.

They beat us the next year in Gainesville. I believe the score was 28-13. We jumped out 10-0 then they commenced to beatin' us down.

True. We had them right where we wanted them in the 1st half, but that dropped pick-6 (Robinson?) was a killer for us, and Leak's 50+ yard run put the nail in the coffin.

Florida has at least lost Tebow, Spikes, Hernandez, Haden, Dunlop, One of the Pouncey twins and I think Riley Cooper. Thats all just off he top of my head could be more. Brantley maybe good but there has only been one Tebow. I expect the gators to run the ball alot more next year. We might even see them in alot of non-spread formations.

I think that UF will be a great team next year with really good odds of winning the NC.

Going into 2009, Alabama was replacing a 3 year starting QB and other significant contributors but in the end, the team as a whole was actually better.

UF is completely loaded. Meyer has a lot to do with that as he and Saban are probably the 2 best recruiters in college football. Also, unlike other great recruiters like Miles and Mack Brown, Meyer and Saban are actually excellent coaches as well.

Another big factor is that FSU and Miami have been really down for last at least the last 6 years and UF has reaped the benefits. I know there is a lot of anti-Miami sentiment on this board, but it helps Alabama tremendously for them to be powerhouse - we rarely have head to head recruiting battles with UM.

Anyway, as long as Meyer is at UF I see them being one of the best four teams every season.

Depending on what Meyer does Florida could be a better team next season. Tebow was a great player but Florida, Meyer, Tebow was too dependent on Tebow carrying the team on his back. Without a Tebow more players will get touches. I don't see anyone in the East that should seriously challenge them.

I am not ready to buy into Arkansas being formidable next year. I look at them as being last season's Ole Miss. LSU will be strong or in Les Miles speak "Damn strong" and the jury is still out on Auburn. I expect Bama to face Florida twice this coming season.

Should be a great game. Brantley is a different type of qb with more of drop back style and definitely not the runner. It will be nice for the Gators not having that number 1 target on our back this year.

Florida will still be head and shoulders above everyone in the SEC.. except us of course. :BigA:

Should be a huge contest with both squads coming into the game undefeated and ranked in the top 5.
