Excuse me....but did our defense just help win that game?

They didn't play well in the first half, but only allowed 3 points in the 2nd half. Amazing. Great game Bama. Roll Tide!!!

I think they got a good butt-chewing at the half. They definitely got their head in the game for the second half.

And I take back every bit of ugliness I was thinking about Dre Kirkpatrick during the first half. :biggrin2:

Trial by fire.

Something has been lacking from #21 this year. He hasn't looked like the player I thought he could be. Something clicked at halftime, not a moment to soon.

I am so proud of the D right now I can't even speak!! WOW! Those kids grew up and became men today!! If they play like they did in the 2nd half the rest of the year, we are going to have one hell of a DEFENSE!

Hightower looked much better today. He got good pressure on Mallett several times.
What more needs to be said about Lester and Big Play Dre!!

Roll Tide!

Yes, they did. Yes the offense scored 24, but that should have been more, so I hope everyone realizes we just played against the best passing qb in college football and the defense took him. RTR

Mallet is damn good. He made several clutch plays despite having pressure in his face. He's gotten better at avoiding pressure. IMO he's the best passing QB in college football 350+ yards against our D is impressive any way you slice it.

If you would have told me earlier this week we hold Arkansas to 3 points in the second half I'd say we win big. Hell of an effort by our defense. We might just have what it takes to repeat...I'm a little more cautious with my optimism after this game, but it's still there.

Seems like most people were predicting the Hogs to score around 20 points. They did. Defense did their job.

The offense on the other hand . . . whew, what an ugly first half! To me that was the difference in this game. Our ineffectiveness on offense (in playcalling and execution, combined with some 'spotty' officiating) in the first half made this game MUCH, MUCH closer than it should have been.

I'm already ready to put this one behind us and get on to Florida!
