Georgia isn't very happy with Fairley right now.
The eye's of college football is watching if the SEC is going too suspend Fairley for the cheap shots..At some point the SEC is going will have too protect our QB's from that crappy kind of play..The SEC office has got too love the negative attention auburn has placed on the integrity of SEC football..At some point the SEC office will have say enough is enough..

He just acts juiced up too me..That kind of aggression just looks like "roid rage"..I could be wrong..His actions speak differently if ya ask me..
That is old school Barn. Don't know how far back some of you go. But, roids were very much a part of Pat Dye coached teams, along with buying players. This Auburn team has Pat Dye written all over it. I've heard Barn fans saying as much, and they love it.

Are you referring to his lack of hygiene? Or are you referring to the some members of Georgia's team exacting a little revenge on the dirtiest player in the SEC?

If you could get away with an eye for an eye justice (in this case, an eye for a dozen eyes), would you? Or, would you allow the abuse to keep occurring? The coaches were in the authority's ear all night, with no response. Finally, the refs had no choice but to throw a flag for spearing in the back (during a very, very late hit, might I add). At that point, the GA players had enough. They had nothing to lose. Auburn did, however.

So will the 2 aubarn d lineman that were ejected for throwing punches at the end be forced to sit iron bowl?

The announcers were saying they'd have to sit the first half of the Iron Bowl. I think that's the automatic penalty for an ejection.

RTR - beat the Cheatas :BigA:

(Sorry, didn't read down far enough to find that this question has been answered several times, but RTR!)

Wrong..that's exactly what Auburn's team and program is, and everyone knows it.
I do not in the slightest support taking out an opposing fan. That has no place in BDS or anywhere else for that matter. I hope that Bama fans will step in and prevent that crap if they see it happening.

But I whole-heartedly support taking out Fairley early in the first. Dirtily. Blatantly. Whatever. I think it's even worth getting a couple of players ejected if it sets the tone, sends a message, and gets a little justice against a habitually dirty player.

What's the message? You're in our house. We are alpha. If you win this game it'll be because you out-physicaled us, and you're not going to out-physical us. Besides, a soft Auburn defense is even more toothless without that punk on the field.
I was going to say the same thing about taking Fairley out intentionally. Send in the biggest, meanest second or third stringer you have to do it; then the ejection and next-game suspension won't affect the team as much. I am serious!

Was just reading this thread on ITAT and a couple of Barner's actually said Filthy Fairley was blocked into Murray on the spear.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Going over to ITAT WILL cause you to lose braincells. It's the equivalent of having one too many strong drinks- including the nauseating feeling after it's all over. Not to mention the regret...

Other boards, LSU, Florida and so forth are talking about this too, not just us. Vern said Roof was asked if he had heard other teams were saying Aubrn played dirty and Ted said "no."

Not to beat a dead horse but by playing Newton Auburn coaches are sending the message to their players that playing to win no matter the rules are is okay. Dirty play, doesn't matter. Ineligible players, just let um play. It is the coaches fault I worry for our guys if we dare give the mighty tigers any challenge in the Iron Bowl. Which I firmly believe we WILL.

Dogging this team for 10 weeks hasn't worked so I am going to try to change the karma a bit:

Nick Fairley is a hard-nosed, clean-playing and upstanding student-athlete who is epitomizes everything that is good about college football, the Auburn family and its esteemed and respected university.

When Lundquist and Danielson call you out on national network television insinuating that you are a dirty player, and then your play for the next 60 minutes affirms that, and the game ends in a brawl where you are a retributive target....then you must be Nick Fairley.

If one of our players made Fairleys gesture following a brawl....it wouldn't be necessary for the league to suspend him.

Coach Saban would take care of it himself.

They're seeing the same things in the NFL with the helmet to helmet stuff - to some players, the punishment is not a stiff enough deterrent.

This is where football gets officiating wrong, IMO. All of the rules are strict interpretations and there are very few times that an official can make a judgment call on intent of a player. If football officials had the ability to eject players because they felt they were intending to injure, football would be much better off.

Because here's the thing, especially with the last hit that set all of this off - if you get there late in fourth quarter with 2 minutes left and it's a 3 point game - I get it, you're trying to win the game. When you do it up multiple touchdowns, you're just trying to hurt the other guy. But they're enforced the same on the field.

If the SEC really wants to stop this - here's what you do.

1) Let officials make judgment calls and send players off for plays they think were inherently dirty.

2) Every Sunday or Monday, a group of officials get together and review at least every personal foul. If they judge it was a blatant cheap shot, they suspend them 1-4 quarters for the next SEC game.

Watching that video, I'm struck by Fairley and Trooper's behavior following the play.

Looked to me like Taylor was encouraging him a la the 'you don't come into the OB' announcer from Miami a few years ago who was wanting to go down and join in the fight.

Maybe I'm reading the body language wrong, but I can't help but sense a haughty, thuggish, rules-don't-apply-to-me mentality from top to bottom at the barn. Maybe it's my crimson glasses. I sure hope we beat them.

If the officials are not calling it a penalty then it's not a penalty. Adjust your own play accordingly. "The rules" are whatever the rules are on that particular day with that set of officials. No different than a strike zone in baseball. You can also sometimes tell the officials that either they can put a stop to it or you will, their choice. Either way it will get stopped. Their QB allows plenty of opportunities for retribution of this nature if he insists on playing that way.

Of course, the easiest way to stop all this would be to consistently block him and knock his you-know-what in the dirt. If you'll do that you won't have to worry about him hurting anybody.

I agree with the basis of what you mean, but I'm not surprised at all. Seems like typical Barnyard behavior; I was hoping that with Cheezwhiz coaching, things might get a bit more sportsman like. Now, I feel certain over the last several weeks with everything "sCam Newton" and watching unFairly patted on the back while continuing his foul play, that's not the case at all! I've been more concerned with unFairly's playing tactics than with being able to stop sCam in the Iron Bowl! Bama boys have the ability to stop sCam's plays; but at all costs getting to unFairly before he breaks through the line and intentionally hurts another QB (or any other player) is going to be necessary if he continues to be allowed to play. :BigA:
