We are already seeing some '11 projections. We've been discussing Bama bouncing back to possibly contend for another NC.

But where will Auburn end up next year???

With the mass exodus of seniors and early entries, they are basically going to field a brand new team next year.

Here's their '11 schedule:

Sept. 3: Utah State

Sept. 10: Miss. State

Sept. 17: @ Clemson

Sept. 24: Fl. Atlantic

Oct. 1: @ USCe

Oct. 8: @ Arkansas

Oct. 15: Gators

Oct. 22: @ LSU

Oct. 29: Rebel Bears

Nov. 5: Samford

Nov. 12: @ Georgia

Nov. 19: bye

Nov. 26: Bama

At first glance, the schedule sets up just the opposite of last year, except they get Bama at home. However, UF slides in on the rotating schedule from the east teams and they've got a killer road schedule.

IMO, their season can really go downhill quickly. They could very easily start out 1-2 after an easy win against Ut. State and loses to MSU and Clemson. Then after an easy win against FL. Atl. to pull to 2-2, they hit a patch of games that I think will humble the defending champs with what could be 5 straight sec loses; at USCe, at Ark, Gators, at LSU and then Ole Sis. After a much needed win against Samford, they've got to go to Georgia and then host Bama after a bye week.

The only gimme wins in this schedule are Ut. St., Fl. Atl. and Samford. I think it is possible those are the only games they win next year! I don't see a SEC game that, at this point, they'd be likely favorites in unless it might be MSU early and Ole Miss late.

I'll go ahead and call it early, with fingers crossed, that Auburn will go 4-8 next year with a 1-7 conference record by barely beating Ole Sis. To top off the season, I could see Bama handing out an '08 type beat down of Auburn on the plains!!!

Here's their '11 schedule:

Sept. 3: Utah State (W)
Sept. 10: Miss. State (L)
Sept. 17: @ Clemson (L)
Sept. 24: Fl. Atlantic (W)
Oct. 1: @ USCe (L)
Oct. 8: @ Arkansas (L)
Oct. 15: Gators (L)
Oct. 22: @ LSU (L)
Oct. 29: Rebel Bears (push)
Nov. 5: Samford (W)
Nov. 12: @ Georgia (L)
Nov. 19: bye (L...I predict an federal report will come out )
Nov. 26: Bama (L, on par with the 2008 in T-Town, but really more in line with the 2001 beat-down at LCCCC).
That's 3-9 or 4-8, depending on if Nutt can get his team motivated this year. All their close wins turn to losses w/o $Cam, un-Fairley, and their OL "graduating", their OL coach getting out of Dodge, etc. That's also 1-7 or 0-fer in conference.

Why do you want to talk about Auburn?

No disrespect but those folks are not relavent to me in the football world any more. I know we have to play them, recruit against them, but what just happened this last year is embarrassing for all.

From the NCAA to the alum it is disgusting. The death penalty should have been thrown at them in 92’.

I want to read and talk about how our O line can and will get stronger from conditioning. Can our corners learn and not get beat by bigger recievers. Things like that. I am moving on to what is important and that is Alabama football.

I said it in another thread but Auburn 2011=Tennessee 2010. Meaning most likely they will win a game or two they shouldn't, generally look bad most of the season and pretty much back door their way into a bowl game (unless something happens and they CAN'T go to a bowl).

Of course, I will be more then happy to see my "prediction" end up wrong and AU having a worse season then that.

We all said they'd be lucky to get 8 wins in '10. They've kept their coaching staff intact and are about to have their second Top 10, if not Top 5 recruiting class. They have one of the best offensive coordinators in college football. They are NOT going to go 0- in the SEC.

I cannot predict how they will fare. No one predicted them to finish above 3rd in the SEC west this time last year. Then President For Life Mr. Lowder got them the best JUCO player that money could buy, and they went "all in". Given the glacial pace of the NCAA's investigative arm, I see no reason that they could stay "all in" for another 2-3 years, openly buying players from the JUCO market, before the NCAA finally gets around to shutting them down. Who knows what or whom Mr. Lowder will be able to buy this year?

Exactly.

They probably won't contend for the West because of too many key personnel losses and a tougher schedule, but they'll almost certainly be competitive.

I say they go 8-4, winning a game or two that they shouldn't. Hoping for 0-38

They will run the table again, 2011 national.........NOT!! Losses to at least Clemson, LSU, South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida and Mississippi State. Georgia and Ole Miss could very well stink it up again next season, so those two are toss ups. When the barn plays Georgia and Ole Miss, the game will probably come down to which one sux less.

It would be an even more unprecedented fall from grace than Texas last year, because we are talking about the defending champs.

I think they go 3-1 out of conference so that means they've got to win 3 SEC games to even get bowl eligible. Look not only at the numbers they are losing, but also the key players involved and then look at the schedule again and who are the three SEC teams they are going to beat? Even if they beat both Miss. schools, they've still got SC, Arky, LSU, and GA on the road. The only break they really get with their SEC schedule this year is they host FL and Bama. I think it will be a struggle for them to be bowl eligible and to do so might require them beating Florida at home.
