I watched some other games yesterday as the storms pounded through NC. Notre Dame looked slow, but big. FSU looked fast but skinny -- and they did not have an offensive line worth shooting. i know they have had injuries, but they couldn't block anyone and it wasn't because the people on the DL were all world. Arkansas looked strong on Offense (expected) but weak on defense. What else is new?

When do UF and UGA and MSU have their games?

Petrino will always have a descent offense..It's hard to gauge how good his offense will be..Just cause it looked like their D flat out suxs..I would be more worried than excited about the upcoming season if I were a Hawg Fan..

I don't know about their defense, but Arkansas will be very good on offense and I won't be surprised if Tyler Wilson is an upgrade over Mallett.

I watched a couple of the games. I am confused by why the even have a Spring game. The coaches let the clock run to speed up the game, because they are worried about injuries, I think. So, why even have a Spring game? What is the point of having 'half' a game? It seems a lot of ado about one-half of nothing, to me.

We have ref's, but NOT really. We have a clock, but NOT really. We have a game, but NOT really. I mean, that is a lot of time and effort to just go through the motions.

I understand the black jersey and not returning kicks and all that, but the running clock just seems to cheapen the whole thing to me.

Isn't a lot of this about simulating a game environment?

I was at the FSU spring game saturday. Not impressed with EJ Manuel. Greg Reed did great during the game making some big hits and tackling very well. The freshman QB Tricket will be a very good QB and to me looks better the Manuel already. He has better timing, more elusive, and better touch he just doesn't have the size yet. Not alot of fans there maybe 30k to 35k there.

The crowd appeared to be small at the Arkansas game also.

I watched the *uburn spring game last night on CSS. They looked really bad. Not a lot of front line talent, especially compared to last year. They have NO depth whatsoever. Only a few players stood out to me. Lutzenkirchen, McCalleb and Travon Reed. Their defense is going to suck and the offense wasn't impressive at all. The QBs looked very average.

Their defense is going to suck and Malzhan's "O" scored only 1 TD. Barners better get in their mind it's going to be a long season.

*U Spring game under cheesedip and Gus have been the same the last 3 years, high scoring Offense due to poor Defense with no depth.

it will get worse this year w/o the Cam juice and Nasty Nick to bail them out.

I want to say the defense scored almost all of the points this year...because they use that silly point system.

They should use real scoring for the spring game...and then maybe internally they could use the weird point system...because the way they have it now is just too confusing for anyone to understand...especially a Barner.

They didn't appear to have much offense at all on Saturday. The offense couldn't do much against a defense that will likely be porous again this year with a lot of main guys gone. They scored a lot in last year's game. I remember that.

I thought the score was in the 30's for one of their teams. what was the final score?

Their season last year was truly lightning in a bottle, brought together by several circumstances that are now gone. I look for them to struggle to finish any higher than 5th in the West.

Arkansas did not look like a championship caliber team. But they do have a championship caliber offense. Auburn proved last year that it's possible to win it all with just that. I'm sure that by now they are beside themselves with wanting to take us down after what we've done to them the past 3 years. Especially last year. However, the game is at Bryant-Denny and if our defense is as good as it looks to be, I still give us the edge over them.

Florida State didn't impress me that much. South Carolina didn't either. LSU looked to have as much talent and depth as we do. QB is the big question mark for them as well.

All in all, it's just spring though. So much can and will change between now and August.

As i've stated until i'm blue in the face - If Auburn becomes bowl eligible this year, Cheese-dip should get National Coach of the Year. There's just nothing left in the tank down there. Too much lost off their team from last year.

i think we play them in west jawjuh next year. doesn't matter. we had the definitive edge over them last year, even with their lightning in a bottle, and blew it because we got complacent. we will have a monstrous edge over them this year, it will still come down to execution on our part.

I didn't word that properly... I was talking about the Arkansas game at Bryant-Denny. They have put a lot into their game with us, really since they've been in the SEC. But the last couple of years we have beat the hell out of them once, and then ripped their hearts out in their house last year. I know they will be loaded for bear this year, but the game is in our house and I believe we are the better team.

But I agree with your analysis of the Auburn game. It is a damn shame that with all of their hoopla last year, we had the better team by far and should have slaughtered them and not only did we let them come back, we let them win in our house. Unforgivable. I think the team gets redemption in a big way this year and I do not think it will be an exciting exit from jerdin-hair for the charmin chunkers.
