Dunno the issues but I'm sorry the situation turned out like it apparantly has. I hope he can get his life together and make the decisions necessary to lead a productive and enjoyable life.

Very sad for all concerned. I think he had plenty of football talent or Saban wouldn't have had him on campus, so I'm ok with people saying we could have used him on the field even if he never played a down. With his size, presumably he could have also helped on down field blocking for the running game. No use worrying about it. If the coaching staff says there was a problem, then that's enough detail for me. I hope he gets his life together whatever it is.

I'll just cheer that much harder for the receivers who go to class, stay out of trouble, and work hard.

I understand everyone's frustration, both with Carter and with the amount of posts associated with a player that it appears may never see the field. However, his name is still on the roster, and even if it weren't, we should keep what we write within the respectful parameters expected by this forum.

He had several things he needed to complete in his personal and academic life. He fell short in one or more of these.

It's safe to say he had every opportunity and plenty of help.

Let's let the mods do their job, shall we? I haven't seen anything posted yet that would qualify as overly harsh or improper.

I'm sorry, but I do not feel sorry for him at all. He had not one, but two chances to play at one of the top programs in the country and blew it both times for whatever reason. Even if he isn't able to play football, he can still go to college because his father has money. He did nothing for the team except take up a scholarship from someone willing to follow the rules.

I pity the young man for one of the following reasons:

1. Either he is completely blind to whatever it is that has caused him to fail at both toSU and UA.

OR

2. He knows what his problems are, he knows what they have cost him and he hasn't been able to whip them.

Oh sure, he's rich and all, because of his dad, but I still pity the kid.

CrimsonProf, you must have a heart of pure gold.:)

I have never heard you utter one bad thing about anyone or anything.

I am being sincere, you are one of a kind.

I immediately thought of Anthony Grant's statement: talent is a gift; character is a decision. CNS may be doing more for him than anyone ever did by holding him to a standard. We will not miss him...we have more receivers than we can possibly use. However, he is quickly frittering away all chances...

That's cute, but I'm not blonde :cool2:

Seriously, I was not calling anyone out specifically. But I had seen nothing official of him being off the team. And although they were the slimmest of chances, I was holding out hope he would get everything turned around. Not only for the benefit of the football team, but as a person as well.

It's obvious his father cares about him, and that Coach Saban thought enough to give him a chance. Has he squandered it? Well it looks like he has. I wish him the best, rich or poor everyone has challenges and obstacles. I hope he conquers his.
