Re: Four Bama football players arrested...
One is whether or not Eddie was already kicked off the team, suspended or the like. Did Alabama know about the prior incident? Figuring out if there was a "trigger" or if his later actions were as someone already kicked off the team is relevant in trying to figure out what happened. Furthermore, was he the ringleader? Did he lead the others on? This doesn't excuse anyone's actions, but if you want to speculate, you have to consider what his motivations might have been.
Assuming up until then, Calloway was not aware of their crimes, I could imagine a rather mundane appearing scenario. For instance, hey I found this card on the ground, lets get some snacks, or that sort of thing. Once again, not trying to defend anyone, but if we are going to use conjecture, there are a lot of scenarios in which Calloway might have had no idea what the other three had been up to.
I tend to think he should still be kicked off the team. He seems prone to bad choices (and yes, I count his odd commitment to Auburn was one of them), and if you couple that with his use of marijuana (I have nothing against it personally, but he knows the rules), and this incident and it's hard to think of him as having good judgement.
When it's all said and done, I assume we'll see Eddie Williams as being central to all of this, and everyone else guilty to varying degrees of going along with his lunatic actions. Also, in the big picture it's probably a good thing to have these people off the team and campus. Hopefully they can get their lives together, but they all clearly have issues that can do further harm to themselves and others.
The story has some wrinkles to it that we don't know yet, and some we might never know.Duh... You're absolutely right. There's nothing that says explicitly that BC was in the car. Still doesn't fly that his teammates would not have clued him in.
