Coach Saban's post game press conference notes;

- Goal going in...we want to be able to go dictate so we can be more dominant and consistent. I don't think we did that tonight.

- We couldn't run the ball with any consistency.

- Too many negative plays.

- We're going to keep working on it. We obviously have a difficult game coming up next week, so we need to get it right.

- Anthony Steen practiced Wednesday and Thursday. Had a headache today.

- Amari Cooper didn't play because his toe was bothering him. Played it safe.

- I'm not satisfied with where we are as a team.

- Jarrick Williams was poked in the eye in the Texas A&M game and lost vision due to subsequent bleeding. will be reevaluated on Monday.

- Special teams has been a real positive for this year

- Nick Perry hurt his shoulder in practice

Stinking ATT lost the ESPN2 feed, about 2 minutes into the game. Came back, early Q4. Maybe it is best I did not see it. I already was in a foul mood.

(Lucky I found a station that streamed the game. A lot do not.)

Maybe this was a game in which CNS was sending a message to some of his stellar players that might not be toeing the 'Process' line quite yet. Too busy reading press releases and whatever.
I think there were quite a few learning situations on display this evening. And I'm sure Ole Miss is feeling a little more confident now. CNS has them right where he wants them. The man is brilliant.
But then, don't ask me, I'm just searching for explanations:biggrin2:.

AJ McCarron interview recap.

Very short interview. Answered 5-8 questions with "It was a communication issue on the offensive side of the ball". After a few questions, looked at SID, who took him out.

I'm not sure how we could expect to run the ball consistently when we never made an attempt to get the running game going. I just can't help but think that the lack of play calling "to win" was intentional. It looked like we were calling plays from a raffle drawing. Just a weird, weird called game.

Our third down%isnt good. We need some more work. I don't care about mcwanes feelings. If we aren't showing improvement each week we are backing up. Our o line is soft in the middle and slow on the edges. We have to play to the standard and we just aren't there yet. Next week is a new week and I hope we all see a different team.

No way we were intentionally tanking. Offense just isn't clicking and, more concerning, the defense has trouble getting off the field at times.

We could afford to play our "B" game and still win this one, what we should have seen is a smooth, clicking offense for about the first 2.5 quarters that got a 4 td lead and then we needed that last quarter to get those younger ones involved.

Glad to be 3-0 but it's been three "non-Bama under CNS" type games.

Maybe they are trying to keep our lack of a running game a secret by not calling running plays.

You can always tell the fans who did not live during the Bryant years or the Stallings years. Don't be under the delusion that we were a runaway machine back in those glory days. We survived many a game. In 1994, we trailed eight times entering the fourth quarter and were undefeated until the SECCG.

Last year was a bit of anomaly folks. We're not going to score 50 points every game. So my take:

1) The former OC has faced our defense before, so he had a pretty good idea of what he could run.

2) McCarron's timing still a bit off on some plays.

3) Terrible execution on third downs.

4) O-line regressed again.

5) No injuries - always good

6) That was not our full top of the line team out there. Didn't see Amari, Yeldon missed a quarter, and I think Steen was missing, too.

7) We still won by 25. If we'd lost by 25 then you could be upset.

We had a close game with FIU in 2008 and our 35-0 win over WKU last year didn't feel like a win (plus we lost Fowler and White).

The trouble with 3rd down really was the key, Nuss will look at the calls but it appeared to me that we never run a play beyond the 1st down marker.

Collins played Great! White was Awesome! I just like to see Drake anytime on the field give him time he will be very good. Really liked the long TJ run. Black wit a TD was a Big Deal.

We got some banged up players, I hope most will be ready next week.

I did not want to see a 76-3 score against coach Mac & CNS almost played everyone.

I think the truth is CNS likes these games better than a true blowout, gonna be a Great coaching week.

Like many have already said it was a WIN, no major injuries, and lots of young guys got to play.

Im happy!

One thing I finally learnt this game, us Bama Fans, are the most spoiled fan base in college football..We win the game, but, reading the thread throughout the game, you would think, we lost the game or was losing the whole game..Gotta love "The Process"..LOL
I don't do them anymore my friend. I don't watch Alabama Football with EEYORE.

Aggravating game for me. We weren't on AFN this week and thanks to outstanding internet, I was able to listen to maybe a third of the game.

So, how did the team look? ;)
