Now the possibly bigger question is...should MSU beat OSU and FSU beat Duke, who do I pull for in the Natty? I cannot ever pull for the barn, but I can't pull for Forcible Sex University either. Dang...guess I need to go to Katmandu if this comes to pass.

There is that...just this particular group of barners has the Dark Side behind them, they have just been too lucky. Was it Thamel who said Unicorns don't travel in packs? All I can hope for is that this year's version pulls up lame tomorrow.
 
I didn't read all 86 pages, bit did see mentioned that she thinks she was hit on the head. Since she went to the hospital within a few hours - wouldn't their records show if she was having confusion issues? I've had a few concussions (clumsy not athletic) & can tell you they will make you woozy, nauseous, & not remember correctly. Then again, if she wasn't showing outward signs of a concussion they may not have looked for it.

The laughter at the PC really disturbed me and reassured me that the "culture" at FSU continues.

This also bothered me!

No winners in Jameis Winston investigation, just regret

The truth remains that nobody except Winston, the girl and at least one third-party witness that was unidentified really know what happened on that night of December 7, 2012. That doesn’t change whether the FSU quarterback was charged or not.

I believe that most people who have anything to do with FSU or who make a living from college football just want this to go away. No one wants to believe that one of our young "heroes" would do such a thing. We would rather believe all sorts of evil things about the girl than believe what our common sense tells us about Winston.

But this is an American societal problem, not a football problem.

On ESPN radio this morning, someone said something to the effect of Florida State's "outside chance at the BCS National Title Game". Did I miss something? :conf2:

yes the laughter was weird and unsettling. the third party witness is starting to sound more like the movie Havoc (anyone?). and is my theory of what really happened.

Still not watching/listening to sports, but FSU is in the BCSCG if they beat Duke. Everyone in the sports world is rallying around Winston now - acting as though he has just been found not guilty after an ugly smear campaign. I can't stomach that.
 
My bottom line here is I can understand it if the DA truly believed that there was not enough evidence to get a conviction but with all the doubt involved, and with integrity mentioned twice for the Heisman, I really hope he doesn't get it, but probably will.

Yep, it was a disgusting PC. Near the end of the PC, the way they laughed at the lone female report asking the serious questions, told me everything I needed to know about this decision... it was a good ole boy football decision.

I normally don't ever hope anyone gets injured, but it would almost be poetic justice if Winston blew out his knee on the first play against Duke and then the Blue Devils won the game somehow.

While I believe Winston's accuser had every right to face him in court, I'm unwilling to wish an injury on someone who hasn't been convicted of a crime. Do I believe he did it? Yeah, probably - but we should be above wanting to see someone hurt over what we think might have happened.

I don't want to see him hurt. I just want to see him crying on the sidelines after a loss. I want all of the backroom dealings and machinations to be for naught.

And speaking of "backroom dealings and machinations", I hope if there was a cover-up (as I believe there was) involving FSU boosters, I hope that one of those boosters is a loudmouth who can't keep his mouth shut and that it all gets exposed.

And I finally heard about his two friends giving affidavits about being there and watching. That and the no signs of trauma (from what I understand) is really damning. If this is true then her reporting it as rape makes no sense because Winston was not famous at the time so what did she have to gain from a false accusation?

Just a lot that doesn't add up.

Of course his two friends could be lying to help him out but if it is true their was no trauma, bruising then I don't know what to make of it.
