If you count all the times we got hosed in the past by the refs, I say good, it's about time we things like this and the face mask touchdown from 2 weeks ago.

I thought it was a mistake at the time. Bama would have had to punt the ball with about 25 seconds to go if not for the mistake.

Penn Wagers' crew is my least favorite. I don't know if he'll be reprimanded but I can't imagine how that happened. I had to go back and watch it to see what happened because at the time I was looking at my computer and looked up at the TV and the game was over.

I find it hard to believe Wagers is the best the SEC can find - it's mind boggling how awful the guy is. As BiB says, it's literally as if they make it up as they go along.

SEC, PLEASE fire that clown.

They ran the clock when Kouandjio was called for a false start on 3rd and 1. Clock should have stopped due to the penalty.
Yep it definitely ran, there is really nothing for JNM81 to look at......lol. I was surprised they ran it too. I hate Penn Wagers as well!! His crew sucks!

I noticed it and couldn't believe they didn't put time back on. Glad to skate out with the 1 point advantage. I was wondering if there would be any fallout from it.

I thought it was very strange the way the game ended.. now I know why.

Yes, Wagers should be reprimanded or suspended or fired.
I thought it was very odd for the clock to tick down. I was thinking at the moment that I could just choke #_ _ because of the false start that should have stopped the clock. With the false start penalty the clock should have stopped.

I just wonder what the ref's explanation was to Coach Biliema on the sideline?

If the shoe was on the other foot, we would be very mad. I don't care if there's 30 seconds or so left, the other team still has a chance. If it were Bama down and the clock ticked down like it did, Coach would have a seizure on the sidelines. If it were Bama, C. Jones could run back a punt to win a game. It shouldn't be over until it's supposed to be over.

I loathe it when the officials make or miss a call that decides a game. It's no good for either team.

I think they got it wrong, but that should surprise no one when Wagers' crew is involved. They are terrible and have been for years. Spots were very iffy both ways all night. They gave them a full yard on their 4th down try, though it still wasn't enough. Last week's crew wasn't significantly better and also had a close call that could well be said to have influenced the game's outcome. Which crew did Arky/A&M?

That said, I don't think it "changed" the game or affected the outcome. Arkansas was out of TOs and by the time they got it marked for the fourth down play my best guess is that we would have had to snap it with maybe 20 seconds or so left. So yes, they could have blocked a punt (if we had decided to punt instead of running a play) and returned it into FG range or for a TD. By the end of the punt or other play, they would have had time for perhaps two plays, more likely one, from deep in their own end. And yes, they might could have hit the hail Mary. Equally, we could have run for a touchdown on the 4th down play or recovered a muffed punt, or pulled a pick six on the Hail Mary. Can't sort that out.

What you can sort out is getting a decent set of officials for our conference. What we have is substandard and that's as nicely as I can put it.

Oh since it's Arkansas, I don't want to hear it.

After all - they didn't think the missed 12 men on the field to say nothing of what sure looked like a trap being called a catch in 1995 cost US the game - village idiot Wally Hall wrote up a whole thing about that.

So......since it's Arkansas, who cares? It just evens it out, which is what I've been saying forever.
