New coach search...

"For men who use their heads about their hair." :biggrin2:

For you youngsters:

"Brylcreem, a little dab'l do ya
Brylcreem you look so debonaire
Brylcreem, the girls will all pursue ya
Simply rub a little in your hair!"

Not sure if he'd head south. Honestly, I didn't know he was in coaching.

I don't think he is...He is running successful organizations, but "I think", for what that's worth, he might listen. Because, in my opinion, the guy is really about winning...at whatever. If the rumor $$ are real, we can go beyond coaching. BTW, Sip, I really appreciate your posts. You and I think alike, I believe!

BOL Reporting:

1. Sources close to Alabama and Marshall believe that he could have a definite answer as it relates to an Alabama offer within the next 24-48 hours.

2. We continue to hear that the discussions with Alabama are going well. With that said, sources close to Marshall have indicated that he will hold his own counsel and there will not be anyone in the decision making process but Marshall and his family.

3. As we previously indicated, the Texas opening has factored into his decision. However, Smart seems to be their main topic.

Those guys at BOL obviously have not been on this board getting their updates. It appears the sky has not fallen just yet.

Last week on the Jim Rome show Marshall was asked about the Alabama job. Most respectable mature coaches would typically say that they had a big game to be concerned about, and that it's always flattering to be mentioned for other jobs. But he had to be a smart-aleck and say that it would take a "crazy" offer for him to listen to us. That was a slap in the face comment in my opinion. I'm no longer on board as being in the group of people enamored with Gregg Marshall. In my book, he can remain in Wichita Kansas until he retires. I'd like to see Bill Battle tell him "thanks but no thanks".

Well, my goodness JW, are you saying that Alabama is bigger than Greg Marshall? .....Me too RTR!

I took it to be almost an apology in advance to the WSU fans. Maybe not the best wording, but I don't think it deserves some of the ways it's been characterized here...
I agree. I also feel bad about comments I made earlier in the thread about Marshalls people giving Texas a heads up. I forgot this is Texas we are dealing with here, and all the stuff from Forde's sources that Alabama shouldn't waste time on an offer to Marshall is probably nothing more than Texas trying to manipulate.

I'll remain positive.

That is interesting wording. What question is he asking Alabama? Is it a new arena?

Reminds me of the Saban-Texas saga.
