Tells me he was not on or near the top of our list. His ploy to get a raise did not work, perhaps?

Dang....................... This is turning out to be an embarassment for Alabama... Marshall said no to us.. SS dont consider us elite program, Pitino's Agent flowing his name to Bama job just so its out there... and yet.. we still got nothing in the end. This is real sad. I bet Murrary State coach will release a statement over the weekend and say " Im not interested in Alabama" and then we'll end up hiring Gene Hackman.........
Maybe Battle let that smoke screen brew as long as he could working another angle behind the scenes. BAMM, either way this is good news, at least for this morning.

I don't know... I wonder if other coaches saw how the fans responded to Grant's coming back for one year and how battle was pressured to fire Grant... No coach want to come to Alabama under that situation... I don't know I'm just speculating and I have no idea what i'm talking about.
Not that it matters, but here's a Business Journal article that indicates the Koch Brothers (one of them at least) being influential in Marshall staying in Wichita
