It's not like the SEC had a losing bowl season last year at 7-5. The B1G was 5-5 but won the CFP so everyone anointed them the best conf.
The top 3 in the west lost so that was part of the argument for the SEC being down but the fact the mid and lower ranked SEC teams won showed the strength of the Conference overall IMO.

The SEC haters will pick and choose their criteria to fit their argument. Last year was bowl games, this year looks like it will have to be something else.

The problem last year was the SEC West was considered the best division in all of football by far and we went 2-5 in bowl games with the 2 MS schools getting blown out. The East which many considered to be and was weak went 5-0.

The thing last year was twofold:

1) The B1G was an underdog in all ten games, so a 5-5 record for them was considered phenomenal.
2) Ole Miss, who beat Alabama, got creamed by TCU and the Tide lost, too

Folks talked about the league being down in 2013......the league went 7-3 in the bowl games but since we lost to OU and Aubie to FSU, they said we were down.

Exactly.
West went 2-5=SEC bad. East went 5-0=SEC bad.
You can't have it both ways.

Another thing. The SEC was favored in all the games except Fla/Mich which was a pick em.
Why is such a down, bad conference favored in all of the games even against teams ranked higher.

Eight of the teams Bama played and seven of the teams we beat were bowl game winners!
