Boy are you right about that! I was lucky to find Tidefans years ago and refuse to ever go anywhere else. This is the best fan site around thanks to you guys.

I agree, Tidefans has a defined scope of decency and common sense to communicate within unlike others. Learning that scope takes some longer than others, I know that all too well. Keep your emotions in check, bite tongue when needed, and you will have a good experience and, leave a happy fan 99% of the time.

It is harder to contain yourself when the chips are down, and throughout history, that seems to be the time when you have the biggest influx of newbies. imo

1. It will be nearly impossible for Clemson to lose to a team that has "functional illiterates" up and down the roster.

2. Clemson will beat Saban so bad that nick will go to the colts as their dc/associate head coach.

I agree. I also believe that mindset can lead to the Clemson players and the team to get easily frustrated. When you think you're the best and you get down 14-0 or 21-0 you will immediately start doubting yourself and start playing to make individual plays instead of just doing your job. Conversely, Alabama has a "do your job" attitude and not one of cockiness. Clemson really needs to get off to a fast start for the sake of their psyche..

I've mentioned it more than a couple of times.
Clemson is the Auburn of the ACC.
That's why I was relieved Clemson hasn't joined the SEC. A little of that goes a long way.

So what happens when those players get beat on a couple of plays in a row and realize that the person across from them is proving all of them wrong at once? That's really hanging out there on the edge. I don't think you'd ever hear Saban say anything like that to his players....especially if it isn't true. Sure, you give them due when they've earned it but "Best" means you "should" win and when that isn't happening you get an existential crisis.

It's like he's a helicopter parent telling his kids that they are perfect and infallible and can do anything they want if they just envision it. I'm surrounded by folks whose parents treat them just like Dabo treats his players and they are constantly passed by because they don't realize...whether it's fair or not...that there are people out there who are just plain better at things than they are - and half the reason is talent and the other half is that they work harder and sacrifice everything and learn to die to themselves . They don't give in to those warm fuzzies that you get when someone praises you for managing to put your pants on correctly that day. On the flipside Saban preaches that NOTHING comes without hard work, dedication and a merciless attention to detail, and if you SHOULD succeed, it is often in spite of yourself. This excerpt that you've provided alone gives me confidence that Bama will win.

If Shaq Lawson can't live in the backfield or Mackensie has more that 4 completed passes against him or Gallman can't find a seam in the 1st quarter they are going to doubt that what their coach said about them is true...and if they begin to doubt that then they'll begin to doubt the game plan, and once that happens the seams will rip and all the marbles will fall onto the floor for Alabama to pick up and take home with them.

So thank you, Dabo.
Thank you for lying to your players when they need to be told the realities.

I don't buy this. Either you're playing or you're not. Nothing has been said about this up until a few hours before kickoff. Sounds like someone is trying to lay out some reasons for a loss. If he practiced all weak with the 1st team defense and wasn't limited at all this week then why is this coming out now?
