And if AG made a FG in the first half...

Or if Alabama scores at the one yard line to start the third....

Their offense had nothing against Alabama. Against any other defense, LSU easily wins with their defensive performance. Too bad they were facing arguably the best defense in the nation Saturday.
Yeah we left between 6 to 10 points off the board and that honestly explains the yardage to points disparity for us. By yardage, you'd assume we'd have 17-20 points on offense...and what'd ya know we can explicitly map out those lost 10 points. Bad FGA miss, Bad 4th and goal from the 1 playcall.

IMO, if LSU had scored 14 by some miracle, Bama would have scored at least 17. This team has a strong will to win. I don't know if it would have caused Saban to change direction on O, or if Hurts and/or other players would have raised their level of play or something else; but just because things played out the way they did, does not mean that they would have done so under different circumstances like LSU scoring 14 points. I'm not suggesting Bama is invincible, just that to this point they have easily answered any challenge. That is something elite and well trained athletes can do. IMO, this is the most talented team Bama's had. This young QB, though coached well overall, is sometimes hampered by his inexperience, spotty pass pro, and occasional poor OC play calling, thus preventing the O from taking full advantage of it's potential. His remarkable poise and competitive nature, as well as the team's will to win, cohesion and elite ability, make up for a lot but not all. If the QB were L. Jackson, Watson, etc. or Hurts in a year or two, this might challenge as one of the greatest teams of all time, IMO, it would certainly be Bama's greatest team.

I agree...LSU is a very talented team who was highly motivated. Our OL could not block them consistently for almost 3 quarters. I was needling you...

I do wonder why LK took so long to adapt to what they were doing. I thought we should have run straight at them long before we did.

I think that thus far this season, for whatever reason, ( probably the threat of Jalen keeping the ball), our most effective play is the quick run up the middle. Teams just don't seem to be able to stop it. So run it!!!!

I'm not sure why but it just doesn't seem like an analogue to Tidefans developed for the LSU fanbase...unless I'm not aware of its existence?

Yah, but their defense isn't as good as LSUs - LSU is ranked higher in every defensive category.

We'll move the ball better against AU.
There is absolutely nothing, other than their field goal kicker, that Auburn has that even competes with LSU.
Personally, my focus is on Mississippi State, but I think we'll beat Auburn's brains out. I know, I know, I know, they "won" against LSU, and I respect Auburn as a team. BUT, they don't have the athletes to beat us if we play our game.

I think Auburn has a better front compared to LSU...Auburn's secondary has played well but LSU's secondary is better.

Our NOTs (Eddie being responsible for many) caused other teams to be forced to take more chances. Then they were finished. I hope we can find/develop a young guy or an overlooked older player to pick up the slack. We're still better than other teams without Eddie but not nearly as much. Maybe Minkah...

Domination to me would be the USCw and Tennessee games. Both teams played a helluva of defensive game, our offense was just enough better to win.
All I was saying...both teams played great defense, it was a very great effort buy both teams and we(Can't say fortunate), we , made one or two more plays than they did. A great road effort and win, but, dominant. No.
Not a discredit to our team. A big credit to LSU for keeping the game close into the fourth quarter.

The big thing with Auburn is that they're very familiar with read option in practice and they don't really have a weakness along their front four starters.

Well, it wasn't 1 or 2 plays, more like 15 or 20. I'm sure you know that Bama out-gained them 323-125, including 203-25 in the 2nd half, with one first down. People can have different definitions of 'domination' - that fits mine. One ?LSU beat writer? from Baton Rouge and one national columnist from CBS both used that word to characterize what Bama did to LSU. There were almost certainly others. So, it's not just blind Tidefans' loyalists. Nevertheless, I can understand why others may not see it that way. Peace 😊.

I just don't see it being a game unless white out of the blue becomes a runner or has a super vertical threat. Pettway is not in the same zip code as LF and neither is Auburn's wide receivers. Point is they may slow us down a little but our defense will keep theirs on the field and it will be a butt whooping.

Agree about the DL. In fact, AU is probably stronger on both sides of the LOS. AU also has the better QB. OTOH, LSU has superior 'skill' players with LF, Guice, Dupree and Duval. None of AU's skill players are scary. LSU has FAR superior defensive coaching. Aranda is probably a 9 or 10, while Steele is a 5. In fact, I'm shocked that Steele's D has not begun to deteriorate as the season has progressed. Muschamp had them playing very well by the end of last season. I guess the carryover has been strong. OTOH, maybe the Vandy game was an indication that the decline is beginning, as a terrible Vandy O put up ~350 on them. My guess is that Adams will be more of a problem than Lawson because Bama's interior is much weaker than the tackles.

Bottom line: Bama has much better players and coaches and is playing at home. Contrary to myth, the best team in this series usually wins and a team that will be favored as much as Bama should be, almost never loses. AU in 49 & 72 and Bama in 84 were the only exceptions.

Bama is 5-1 against AU as the number 1 team. The only loss being at J-H in 2013 with Bama's missed FGs, other strange occurrences and a last second score. This with one of the top 3-5 teams in AU program history. I just hope Bama fans don't create a 'spooked' atmosphere, because most of the outside pressure will be on Alabama, partially because of '13, as well as the myth that AU has a hex on Bama in big games. AU can win but it's not likely.

If you wish you call it "domination"...no problem. I'm really sick of arguing that point.
I prefer to call it a hard fought victory, and both teams should be congratulated for their incredible efforts. It was an awesome football game in my opinion.
