I was thinking that too. No clue who Herm would bring in now.If Napier takes that job, the hiring of Herm Edwards by ASU looks even worse. He was hired to be more of a GM type and let Napier and the DC stay on staff.
I was wondering if his results this year would warrant a look by Saban if he chose to make a change. If Napier takes that job, the hiring of Herm Edwards by ASU looks even worse. He was hired to be more of a GM type and let Napier and the DC stay on staff.
Time will tell, but not sure the Herm Edwards hire will end well for either party.I was thinking that too. No clue who Herm would bring in now.

Look who we play on Sept. 29th next season.Football Scoop now reporting Napier is expected to accept the ULL job. Good for Billy.
Yep. Saban plays three former assistants in the 2018 regular season.Look who we play on Sept. 29th next season.

Saban is I think 10-0 versus former assistants. Here's to keeping the streak alive.Yep. Saban plays three former assistants in the 2018 regular season.
Nice. Herm is so far in over his head but he does play to win the game. What makes you think that?
Was it the fact he stayed in Bristol to work at ESPN for a week after he was hired?
Or the fact he hasn't coached a game in 10 years?
Or that he hasn't recruited players in almost 30 years?
Or was it that he didn't even know the mascot at his introductory press conference?
Not to mention the reason they brought in Herm was because they wanted him to play some weird "CEO" role in a new power structure while retaining the OC and DC. Meanwhile Napier has taken a HC gig and the DC has said he's leaving the program for "personal reasons" (what are the odds his personal reasons involve personally not wanting to coach under Edwards.)What makes you think that?

Anytime there is a HC changes, its expected that kids will decommited from the school. Look at Tennessee. So you really cant use that argument. Not to mention the reason they brought in Herm was because they wanted him to play some weird "CEO" role in a new power structure while retaining the OC and DC. So this whole charade was to keep two coordinators who are now gone -- ASU has lost 7 commitments since Graham was fired (including 3 since Edwards was hired) including their only 4 star.
This is going to end up being the worst Power 5 coaching hire in a generation. I'm willing to bet both sides already regret it.
It's a little different when you've added no recruits, the new HC hasn't recruited since 1989 and the two coordinators you were counting on have hightailed it out of town...Anytime there is a HC changes, its expected that kids will decommited from the school. He was OC @ Clemson before coming to Bama.Wow, what a rise for Napier.. going from WR to OC to HC in three years. Arizona should've hired him when they had a chance.
