I think one of the things that Mack had an issue with was ..maturity. He seemed to talk more on twitter than produce on the field. I wish him luck and I hope he goes to a team that can help him grow as a player and keep his head on straight.

Seen on the twitter feed that Kyler is wanting the A’s to pay him 15 million or he’ll enter the draft tomorrow. I know he loves football, but he just seems too short to play QB in the NFL. I guess people said same thing about Russell Wilson too and we see how that worked out. If I was in the A’s organization I don’t know how’d I feel about this proposition.
Uhm..................can't say how I can feel comfortable saying this, but.....................

Billy Boy isn't going to play that game. He is cheap, and the owner is cheaper. No way they are going to give someone that much money before they hit the Big Show. Plus, Billy Boy doesn't like anyone trying to show him up.

OK, maybe they would have, if Boras (aka The Great Satan) negotiated that, when he was drafted. But, they made a deal, and that is the deal they are going to have to accept.

(Yes, there is always a chance it could happen. I won't be the only person who has a heart attack. 'Nuf said.)

Might want to read up on it.

I'm not on Twitter, so I have no idea what he is saying, but as long as it's rather benign, then I have no problem with it. In this day and age, the jawing on Twitter is just something we have to accept.

What bothers me about Wilson leaving compared to the others, is that he isn't going to get drafted by the end of the 2nd round, but probably would definitely get drafted by then if he came back and learned his position better. The other guys, with the exception of Smith, will almost assuredly be drafted by the end of the 2nd, and if that's the case, then you should probably come out.

I heard Wes Neighbors say awhile back that Mack Wilson coming out of high school could play almost any position on the field...except for linebacker. I believe that came from his son who was on the coaching staff. The implication was he was a great athlete but not a great linebacker and I think we saw that play out this year. In his defense I thought he was better last year than this year and I feel that the coaching change hampered his progress quite a bit.

Maybe Mack isn’t cut out for MLB. He is great as a edge rusher and pretty decent in coverage (except a few oops this year). Maybe he can carve out a spot out as a outside guy? I would agree that he spent way too much time on social media projecting his “brand” and not enough time honing his skill.

I really think Deionte and Mack could be looking at the second round if a team isn't locked into them. Weak years at a position doesn't always mean players get over-drafted relative to their evaluations. Years like this at ILB and safety are when you see teams pass on the position altogether and try to get their preferred option in the 2nd round when the value lines up.

I think Mack Wilson might get a look as a safety in the NFL.
Not in this NFL. He may be consider flexible as a backer to NFL teams. He may be a better fit as a 43 backer at MLB or OLB for a team that plays a lot of zone coverage.

I don't really know how to express what I am thinking, but could it be that Coach Saban in encouraging some of these later round pick players to declare for the draft as part of his evaluation of the championship game? Is it possible that there are some players who did not have that championship attitude, so they are being encouraged to move on to make way for players who want to win it all and not be complacent?
