I agree with you. Most Bama fans felt something was missing from this team pretty much all year. I can't argue this was a championship contender when we went to the wire against Texas, Texas A&M and Ole Miss. I think the committee should have slotted TCU 4th, let the bloodbath happen in the semis, and just take the criticism for a Big 10 rematch in the other semi.
Its looking like the big thing separating Georgia and Alabama obviously isn't talent or recruiting......its the team leadership and drive, the creativity of coordinators, the overall competency of coordinators. The infused will from the coaching down to the graduate assistants to the backup field goal holder.

Oh dear God I'm going to sound like Dubose when I saw this......they seem to have a.....oneness of purpose. This Alabama team never seemed to have that.

What TCU has done is expose the frauds of what is driving the college football industry today. The media. The athletics directors. The college presidents. But of course we should have already known how fraudulent the vast majority of these people are.

So what to do? IMO, now more than ever there needs to be further consolidation particularly led by the SEC and Big Ten and then there needs to be a true breakaway and a new organization formed. NOT another ncaa division or sub-division. A true completely new and separate organization. What about other sports, you ask? I don't care about other sports.

Georgia could have, and indeed they should have, won 100-7 last night. TCU did not belong on that stage. Harbaugh should be placed on probation for that abomination of a game prep that was the Fiesta Bowl, which allowed TCU to advance. Georgia would have had a dominant win over Michigan, to be certain, but it would have been 41-17 instead of 65-7.

For all of Dyke's talk about playing FCS opponents in November, he became that FCS opponent himself. Now sit down, shut up, and move back to the rear of of the auditorium where you belong.

And to all of the media who are keeping TCU ranked at 2, you should be banned from participating in the poll for the next 50 years or the AP poll should be disbanded forever. You might as well rank, dare I say Tarletan State, #2!

I think there are already cracks in that armor though. Granting byes to only conference champions, for example. But at least those games, which would be the quarter-finals, will be at neutral sites.
Kansas State would have gotten a bye as #4.
Utah would have gotten a bye as #3.

They'd have been the highest ranked conference champs behind Georgia and Michigan if I'm not mistaken.

They say that a measure of a man's intelligence is found in how much he agrees with you. Jess, You are a genius! 😊.

Beating Michigan doesn't really tell me anything, but based on what I saw last night, TCU most surely didn't deserve to be in that game.

One other observation, and this is one I wish we'd adopt once again: Kirby has Georgia playing hard and aggressively for 4 FULL QUARTERS. They don't build up a lead and then go into a 4-corners mentality like we have in the past couple of years. That is something, IMHO, that should be reintroduced and constantly focused on. "Make them quit!"

Has anybody EVER moved UP in the AP Poll after a loss?
Well, TCU didn't move DOWN after losing to Kansas State in the Big 12 Championship game. And now they move UP after getting slaughtered by an SEC team. I would like to see how each person VOTED that's part of the AP voting. Then I'd know who I do NOT have any RESPECT for.

In the final CFP rankings the top 4 conference champs were #1 UGA, #2 Mich, #7 Clemson, #8 Utah.

Here is what the expanded playoff would have looked like if it was played this year:

9 KSU
8 Tenn. (winner plays 1 UGA)

10 USC
7 Bama (winner plays 2 Mich.)

11 PSU
6 OSU (winner plays 3 Clemson)

12 Tulane
5 TCU (winner plays 4 Utah)

If they must let in the top 6 conference champs, fine, but don't give them auto byes, give those to the top 4 in the final CFP ranking. My bracket would look like this:

9 KSU
8 Utah. (winner plays 1 UGA)

10 USC
7 Clemson (winner plays 2 Mich.)

11 PSU
6 Tenn. (winner plays 3 TCU)

12 Tulane
5 Bama (winner plays 4 OSU)

I also wish they would re-seed after the first round always putting the #1 team against the lowest ranked team left.

You just described a better overall program than Alabama, at least currently.

TCU did not move up after a loss - they moved up to two after beating UM. The AP did not have a vote last week. But that is when they moved to #2.
