Anybody have an idea how he compares to Demouy?
shorter and slower, but bigger. Not as highly rated out of HS (Kennedy was just short of a 5 star), but does at least seem to have been in a playing rotation at UGA when not hurt. He's got an injury history going back into HS. We did recruit him and while it is a bit of an odd add since we brought in the JUCO ILB also, if Saban and the staff are giving him a spot, there's something there they like or a role they think he can fill, so welcome aboard and we'll see where things fit in the spring. I do worry that it could make some guys who are next up in the competition decide to look around themselves in spring though.

Trezman won't play any more at Bama than he did at georgia. It doesn't make since for him to come to the good guys,.......unless.
Hope this means we get Schumann, but not necessarily the case. Our new hire, Anderson, was on UGA staff I think when T. Marshall was a freshman, so that will help us. He has experience and from what I have read, he was pretty good at UGA in the rotation. He also had 2 shoulder injuries and a knee injury that prevented him from playing more. He already knows the defense since it is similar to UGA's. He will help for depth purposes if nothing else. I just hope the younger Bama linebackers learn quickly too. Maybe Marshall is mostly developed already, whereas our development at the position under Golding was lacking.

Maybe he brings something to the mental side as far as linebackers are concerned. It could just be the difference between how Bama and Georgia use the inside guys.

If a new DC needed someone to make the right calls then a player already familiar with his MO would be a confidence booster. I’m just sayin......

Maybe not on bench for 4 years, but we've had a lot of guys do very little for a few years and then have one great years and do well in the draft. B Robinson, mack Jones, q williams, etc were all single year starters...
Mac would have started earlier, if not for waiting on Hurts and Tua. He could have started the 2019 season, and been great. He had better numbers than Tua in the 2019 A-Day game.

Kennedy was a someone we didn't want to lose, but He wasn't going to crack 2 deep this upcoming season. He made the right decison. the Georgia kid transferred here, now.. he didn't come here to sit. He's gonna push everyone this spring and summer and fall.

The LB position needed a leader.. someone vocal.

From Al.com.
"After playing in 14 games as a freshman in 2019, Marshall was limited to three games for Georgia in 2020 because of shoulder surgery. He played only four games in 2021 before a knee injury ended his season, and returned to play in 14 games this season."

Perhaps - but the real point is that guys can do the work, wait their turn, have a great single year, then do well in the draft.
You could sell this line of thinking before the NIL. Now, a kid is having to consider (as part of their decision-making process) whether he'd rather take the Mac Jones approach or transfer and be able to put himself in a better position to maximize NIL money. I imagine a starting QB is getting a lot more NIL money than the backups. It is more tempting than ever before to take the transfer route.

An eighteen-year old doesn't think the way grown adults do.

In their mind they want the money NOW and that they will get a LOT more money later when they make the pros...

Oh trust me, I've got two teenagers, I know. Sometimes I wonder if there is nothing but empty space and strong winds between their ears. 🤷‍♂️

Sad part is adults behind the scenes are making these portal decisions... None of the kids transfer without the blessing of a parent or guardian. The parents are chasing the money too.
