If Lebby hadn't had success everywhere else he's been then I would be concerned about hiring him. However, OU and the new incoming staff were totally screwed by Riley and the players that left the program almost immediately after he did. I'm sure the new staff expected some to leave but I highly doubt they expected the mass exodus that left.
Yeah, he didn't exactly have many tools to work with...........

Injuries and the Okie defense didn’t do Lebby any favors this year either. When opponents are going through Ted Roof’s defense like the proverbial “tin horn”, sometimes your offense game plan goes out the window.

True.................with the resources he would have at Bama, I think his offense would definitely pop

Not only that, Lebby is actually perfect for what Bama needs... I don't think he will have lot of limitations within Bama offense. If Lebby is likely the one, I think he is more suited for Simpson than for Milroe right now at this point. But Lebby can actually use Milroe's skillset in RPO offense, so that'll work either way.

I think Lebby is that guy that can adjust each week, and he can read the defense pretty good.

Why do people continuing to bring up retirement for Saban? It doesn't make sense when it comes to hiring OC/DC... It doesn't make sense at all.
It was brought up because of his age and the fact that these 2 men could possibly be the last 2 he hires as his OC and DC. And having that in mind hiring men that would not be a1 year and then leave hire.

Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
Bet that BOB used this same argument when interviewing.
BOB had a reputation for being what he ultimately was at Bama (regardless of defense and injuries) and Lebby's offensive reputation is nothing like BOB's. Many of the concerns people had when we hired him came to fruition. BOB will do a lot better in the NFL because that is what his playcalling and approach to offense is best suited for, not for the college game.

You know Jeff Lebby is likely to get HC coaching within 2 years?
Pruitt could be back in HC spot within 4 years... IMO, Saban has 1-3 hires left.. and that's something we don't need to discuss or focus on a this point... We'll deal with it when that time comes.

Steven Smith with Touchdown Alabama is reporting on his latest podcast his sources are saying Alabama is all in on Jeremy Pruitt and he is 85% cleared with our compliance department. The only hang up is if we hired him now he would not be able to be on campus until August. Anyone else hearing this report?
Why?🤔

His offense over the years:

How did Jeff Lebby’s offenses rank during his tenure as the Offensive Coordinator? (yahoo.com)

What to Expect out of Jeff Lebby's Offense at Oklahoma - Sports Illustrated Oklahoma Sooners News, Analysis and More

“The things that we live by, you’re going to hear us talk about being fast, fearless and physical on offense,” Lebby told Ole Miss play-by-play voice David Kellum ahead of his first season at Ole Miss in 2020. “… We’re going to be a physical football team that’s going to be incredibly physical. I truly believe there has not been a championship football team that hasn’t found a way to be physical in every area of their football team.

“… That’s everything you do — from being a ball-carrier, to blocking on the perimeter, to blocking in the core. Everything you do, you’ve got to find a way to be physical. It’s a physical game. If we’re going to hoist the trophy, we’re going to find ways to be physical at every position on the offensive side of the ball.”

Lebby’s offensive philosophy will be music to Venables’ ears, as he laid out a similar vision for what he wants his offense to look like during his introductory press conference on Monday.

"I think you just watch how offenses work today with obviously a fast pace,” Venables said. “Mostly everybody is no-huddle or the sugar huddle. Just being aggressive and physical. Just because you spread out doesn't mean you have to lose the physical element. I think it's more important than anything else that you maintain, establish, nourish, enhance and improve a standard of physicality that goes with whatever scheme you're implementing.

… I believe you've got to throw the ball in this day and age without question. I think that's never changed. You've got to be aggressive in the things that you're doing, be diverse in your presentation and make the defense move and adjust and be right on the field. I think that you've got to be known for something, so having a strong identity that has shown it can stand the test of time is important as well.”

Bad source to cite. Stephen be grasping at straws time to time. He does have small connections with the program, but many time he has burned bridges with them on contents they have put out over the past few years. He's always quoting former players, using their twitter as a source and it's a bad look for the magazine.

Well obviously, we just disagree and see things differently. If you don't want something to be discussed then don't discuss it. Its that simple.

Lebby is definitely a proven offensive mind, but I’m concerned about his involvement in the Baylor scandal. He was implicated as someone who knew and kept quiet, and Art Briles is his father-in-law. Doesn’t impact the coaching aspect, but seem to be some serious character concerns there…..
