I believe this is the second time CNS is making a run at Lebby. The first time was at Ole Miss two years ago when we hired BOB IIRC. Think this will be a tough pull, but it could be Lebby feels he has “hitched his horse to the wrong wagon” with Venables? I think some of it may depend on how much leeway Lebby feels CNS will give him in running “his offense”.
I don’t like Venables constitution and Lebby is probably seeing it too. He waited around for a gig and only jumped on Okie because he thought it was a sure thing. He didn’t have the intestinal fortitude to believe his own talents to coach up any team, he waited for “the” team. Now it’s not working out and Venables has been exposed as a poser. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if Lebby would rather hook his sails to Saban and Alabama vs Venables and Okie. Would be a great hire.

He could come to Alabama and coach under Saban for a few years and when Venables is out at Oklahoma return to his Alma Mater.

Listen, I don't know about you, but Nate Oats is one heck of an offensive minded coach, he would be a great add for Bama Football!!!! His players know how to pass, block, and get open. Best schemer out there!!!!
It would be verticals or screens, no in between. Our heads would explode on the football side. We can’t get enough on the basketball side though 😂

Mullen reportedly told Chris Lowe yesterday he wasn’t interested, was happy as a clam (my words) on TV and had zero interest in getting back into coaching anywhere.
