All these WR we have signed want their touches also. I think we stay pretty balanced with the play calling. Our running plays just need to consistently produce the yardage we need to get first downs. And if we hold serve with the passing game ( in the ballpark of what Bryce did ) we will beat a lot of folks.
Would also help if the WRs worked on securing the catch.

Yep, completely agree. I don't think anyone is suggesting we're going back to 70/30 run pass aka "Stalling Ball". I think we will have about the same ratio, but we will have a more aggressive mentality with the running game via schemes, formations, and motion. No more running the play clock down to five seconds and under and putting the OL at a MAJOR disadvantage. I also think there will be an attitude adjustment and mental approach to how we play football when we touch the field. We are there to steal, kill and destroy.

And getting open
And I‘d add the OL opening holes and protecting the QB. The OL got better as 2022 went along, but was never really up to standard.

Then you have the problems with WRs getting open, and with holding onto the ball when it hit them in the sternum.

My personal evaluation is that we’ve had several shortcomings in 2021 and 2022 — centering on OL and DL physicality, WR focus and OC imagination. They’re intertwined, so it’s hard to pin blame on a single spot.

I do think that a physical mentality will cure a lot of it.

Maybe you haven't noticed but we use Baseball terms, and other sports too. I even manage to throw in an occasional Music reference. Old movies' get many references too.
IMO: I think the many references is because we are a multi-faceted group.
Don’t know why you are quoting me. I like the baseball and other references and even use them myself. My gif was just good naturedly teasing uafan.

The crazy thing is I watched a lot of teams do this and be successful in 2022. (Utah comes to mind). Alabama just wasn't one of those teams.

I think the difference is those teams do it as part of their offensive strategy, whereas we were doing it because of confusion.

Did you notice the Eagles doing this in the SB? Ball was rarely snapped before 1 second...shortening the game. They almost pulled it off...
Missed the Game because I was closing Publix seafood again. Pretty much missed most games in 2022 college and pro. Honestly, I got to figure out what I am doing with my life because If I am going to miss football on the weekends, I want it to be something worth the sacrifice.

I had to sacrifice football for about a decade to really get my career going. It was a worthy tradoff.

This was what Alabama SHOULD have done in the NCG against Clemson a few years ago when Clemson won 35-31 on the final play. I remember complaining that we were snapping it with 10-12 seconds on the play clock which just gave the ball back to Deshaun Watson sooner. Had we run it down to 1 or 2 seconds the entire game then Clemson probably doesn't have a chance for a final play. Same strategy should be used against a team like Tennessee. I can't remember when we were snapping it against them this past season. Of course Bamabuzzard's point is valid about using it as a strategy vs. confusion.
