BTW, Tidefans is famous over on Dawgnation. I ventured over there to read Mike Griffith , he was on three man front last week. Anyway, they have a thread about this thread over there.

Are they aware that they spell and pronounce dog wrong?

As far as any of these coaches the better the talent the better the coach. Bobo will probably do well. It’s Alabama I’m focused on. We get our ship sailing full speed and it won’t matter who the Dawgs coach is.

Looks like our newly hired Austin Armstrong is about to accept or has accepted the Florida job with Napier. He will get to call the defense. I was hoping he'd stay at Bama but understand it is a promotion for him. He worked with Napier previously in 2020.

I wonder what Coach Saban thinks about this (I know he encourages promotions but the guy wasn't here that long....) and who is on his list now for replacement.

Well this sucks. I think Armstrong was also a backup plan for CNS if things with Pruitt didn’t go well in terms of the NCAA ruling.

I wonder if this means CNS will give ILB responsibility to Steele and hire a safeties coach now?

Just like with recruits, all other coaches figure if Saban want's him, we should want him. Napier is trying to build credibility.

All money ain't good money and though the guy may leave to go be the DC at Florida, he is running the risk of damaging future opportunities as DC at P5 programs. I don't even have to look, but at this stage, Napier hasn't stockpiled the talent on that side of the ball that Alabama already has on campus. So if he gets over there and their defense gets lit up, he will probably be blamed for it not the lack of elite talent they had 15+ years ago. This is a very risky move on his part if he does decide to go.

I remain unconvinced that Sunbelt Billy is the guy who is going to turn Florida around. Maybe he is but through year 1 it doesn’t look that promising

I'm just old enough to have seen this movie many times before. There are lot more Tom Hermans than Urban Meyers.

I'm just old enough to have seen this movie many times before. There are lot more Tom Hermans than Urban Meyers.

I don't think many really care about what goes on in Athens....................they like to think that Bama fans care, but if you look really hard, they care alot about what goes on in Tuscaloosa, despite what they say

And as for Napier, I dont think he will make it over the long term.................they arent that patient down there

Hey, I’m not obsessed, read my comments on this very topic in other threads, I do like Mike Griffith though. He is a Georgia homer, but he is also a realist. It was a post I observed and really care less if you are thrilled with what I post. If you don’t like , don’t read it or do . I don’t care, it’s a forum.
