I've mentioned slant and crossing routes before. My goal in that would be to give the QB Spy something else to do besides focusing on the QB. I see how that would make more space for the RBs.

I'm worried about the number of guys we have that can really make use of that space and move the chains. It seems that aside from McClellan, the ball carrier just runs into the nearest scrum and looks for a place to fall down. I dunno if they lack the can-do or want-to but one or the other seems lacking.
Not trying to start a beat a dead horse trend but a lot of this is connecting to the lack of push by the o-line. Not a lot of blocks to the second level to open up running lanes.

Keeping in mind though, this is one of the best front 7s in the nation that we just played against. The good thing is with winning, we do have another chance to get better at it.

So happy to be wrong. The question is was I wrong about Bama, or wrong about aTm?

I will absolutely take this result, but the penalties MUST stop. The refs did us no favors too.
I’m right there with you. Didn’t think we could block A&M, to be fair 6 sacks really isn’t something to brag about, but Milroe had a better pocket to pass from and hurt them deep. I agree, penalties and dumb mistakes have to stop and we have to develop a better intermediate passing attack and more consistent running. Overall, a hard fought win in a tough environment

Not to beat this to death, but Milroe is like being in a relationship with a girl where she rarely gets freaky with you but when she does it's something fantastic and out of this world that if offset by the fact she has bad gas 90% of the time and walks into streetlights constantly because she can't put the damn I-phone down.

Quite frankly, that's the entire Alabama team at this point.
This one needs to be saved somewhere, pinned. Perfect analogy. Excellent, well done.

Just finished watching the Replay…

We beat them worse than the score for sure.

It easily could have been 31-17 and ended on a 21-0 run by us.

The Defense will have a hiccup here and there but for the most part they are playing Excellent.

Golding would have cost us this one without a doubt.

Steele has been a MAJOR upgrade.

Jalen had more ups and downs but I’m not going to nitpick because ultimately the Good outweighed the Bad. He took some more bad sacks BUT he also made some BIG throws.

Burton had a GREAT game too. He talks a bit too much but if he plays like this I can let it slide..lol

Reichard and Burnip are AMAZING.

We control our destiny for the SECW and if we eliminate the Penalties and continue to improve we have a Good Shot at going to Atlanta.

I was wrong about this team and I’m glad I was wrong.

Roll Tide!!!
A DC from a mid major would be an upgrade over ole Petey.

Much of today’s game was intermediate passing

It’s been that way for a ~2 1/2 games. Yes, Bama takes and hits more deep shots than most, but the short and intemediate game has been a key part of Alabama’s game of late. 2 of the TDs were 15 and 19 yards - the 15 yarder was a great throw. 6 of Bonds 7 receptions were for a total of 44 yards, Niblack, Prentice and Benson had 12, 5 & 6 yarders.

He still can’t throw short or read a defense. But if you give him time, he will beat you deep.
I was showing my son exactly that when watching the replay. There are guys open all over the place. With as bad as the OL is playing at times it really difficult to say it’s just JM not seeing them or “he can’t read defenses”. He’s making progress. His one TD to Burton was his 3rd read. I know there are teams out there praying that the light for JM and the OL don’t come on at the same time because they will be a nightmare.

I was in the car for the first 3 quarters and streamed the radio feed. Gotta say Tyler Watts is an outstanding color analyst. He gave off Tony Romo vibes when he predicted the fake-toss/TE pass that unfortunately ended in the int. JPW wasn't bad, but TW is polished and always dialed in. Hope he keeps the gig for a while.

Great game….. but this is probably one of the worst games I have ever seen from a referee standpoint. The call on that negated the TD on the blocked field goal was absolutely ridiculous. A number of calls that went against us were questionable to say the least.
