At some point, the firing and hiring process of coaches becomes a "dance of the lemons"! Coaches are fired for bad performance, only to be hired by another school.

It's usually due to player support and a lazy or cheap search committee. Players don't look at the big picture however.

I’m more perplexed aTm thought Mark Stoops was the answer in the first place. Sure, he has won at Kentucky, but at the same time…has he really?

My kid is an Aggie so we are following this closely. Some reports say Stoops flew in to be turned down at the tarmac. I don't believe it but it would be funny and sad. I fully think the fans bullied them out of the hire and Stoops is saving face with his tweet.

We will never know the truth. If A&M did this to Stoops (pulled their offer), they will never want that to come out. Same with Stoops. So both sides will pretend that it never happened and move on.

I’ve heard Elko is a “my way or the highway” kind of guy. That won’t play at 8&4.

One of best friends lives in Lexington (actually Danville). Former player and rather well connected to happenings there. He also worked in AD in several schools in ACC and SEC.

He was told last night it was “done”. They were concerned with who Stoops may take with him (players and coaches) and had started working an interim coaching staff plan.

This was a Schiano-UT 2.0 .
