Who is Saban's replacement?

I guess of the options left I wouldn't hate a swing at DeBoer. But it does feel like we're in take a swing territory without Lanning or Sark.

I guess the "we already have a replacement and this was planned" camp is wrong that this point.

Occam's Razor points seems to point to this was in fact an unplanned announcement.

The announcement wasn’t unplanned or unexpected. They knew for awhile. Now whether they have a guy there in mind is debatable. But I seriously doubt if the job isn’t filled by Tuesday.

Maybe, but it hasn't even been 24 hours. Remember what Mike Tyson said about plans.

Hope Lanning sends someone a fruit basket for the extra mojo he just got.....

real insiders said Saban was interviewing DCs the day before and maybe even hours before announcing. so the Saban knew and there was a plan was just wishful thinking.

I want Sark but that's probably a pipe dream. Having said that, talk has been suspiciously quiet regarding him. A guy can hope, right?
Sark and Lanning both have the same issue. If those programs want to keep them, Alabama can not match the money.

But, Sark's time at Texas has been a bit more contentious. I think Sark is the safer version of Kiffin but some of the same questions remain. Can he lead a team to a title? Can he get over the hump?

I have no idea...

Bit of a toss up if I had to compare him to Dabo I guess.

Lanning really seemed to fit the bill, after that, I mean unless you get Smart to leave Georgia (not happening) every candidate is going to have some warts.

Do you mean because Lanning is staying at Oregon? If so, that is assuming he is even the target. Everything that has been reported is just rumors and speculation.

If he values total control of his program, Texas is not the place to be. So, there's a chance. I'd like him to come back, I'm just not holding my breath.
