I Like this idea, I always envisioned Coach Saban kind of pulling the strings behind the curtain after he retired. Although sort of selfish of me to wish such things on a man whose retiring but what a way to leave a lasting impact. As someone else said, I would assume he would want to protect the kingdom he built. If you are to compete in the new NIL era, the current collegiate model does not work and wont work. If you are to reinvent what it should look like and there are very few rules prohibiting you, now is the time to do it and you want Saban doing it.
Herm Edwards at ASU was a man before his time...
What's preventing Saban from starting his own agency and steering recruits to Alabama much like a GM would? Who would not sign with his agency? Other schools are already using NIL to steer recruits to schools, recruits have agents already doing this. He would have NIL deals arranged for his player-clients.
I think we are about to see college football reinvented...
Well I didn't realize we had 3 players transfer to FSU. So yeah that would be part of the deal. And bring any great players at FSU too.He needs to bring back all our players then…
You know that aint happening................already got enough Life ChampionsThis would shock the Universe!

Only if they promise to play the full seasonWell I didn't realize we had 3 players transfer to FSU. So yeah that would be part of the deal. And bring any great players at FSU too.
It's a pretty lousy list, in my opinion at least.
I mean I get bringing in DeBeor for an interview, but the question isn't just can he recruit the southeast (he's never worked there), but really can he recruit at all.
He's only been at Washington for two years, so we don't really know what a team he's built would look like at the power conference level. Furthermore, he currently has the 36th ranked recruiting class, before that it was 26th.
Washington's recruiting was ranked 16th in 2018, 15th in 2019, and 16th in 2020. So recruiting has actually tanked under him, it's a major red flag when you already consider he isn't familiar with the southeast.
The coaches we are courting may not agree. I keep seeing posts about how Sark may be tired of Texas meddling in his coaching. I suspect some possible hires may not like the thought of Saban watching practice from a higher perch--eating Lil' Debbies.Makes me feel a little better knowing CNS will still be around the program and will have an office in the stadium.
I'd imagine some will stay..............if he brings the OC, should he get the job, that would be a plus............needs to keep most of the defensive coaches at Bama and hire a great DCDeBoer has been up north just about his whole life…but I guess you could say the same about Saban too before coming south. One thing you can say…he has won way more games than he’s lost. I wonder…if he is our next head coach will he bring his staff at Washington with him?

I aint sure thats what he would do...................I think his stint is in an advisory role for awhile, then he goes to Jupiter IslandThe coaches we are courting may not agree. Side note: The app planefinder tracks ADS-B transponders. I don't usually track the UA aircraft during the coach searches, but if I did, looking for a specific flight, I would check every airport's departures, arrivals times, and flt destinations, all of which are available in the app. TIFWIW.You could track it if you knew when and where it was taking off from - good luck with that. The tail number and plane type doesn't show up on the trackers - N1UA. You just see a plane icon with NA on it. They still have to use a transponder.
