Who is Saban's replacement?

Think recruiting is already in tank. I expect a mass exodus into the portal. Deboer or any name that wasnt at the top of the list isnt going to swoon people back. These kids came to play for the GOAT.
Your next positive post will be your first positive post…we get your point. Your negativity isn’t helping anything…We’re Bama, we’ll be OK.
If you’re a real fan, you get that…
Roll Tide!!!!

No but you ARE hearing from people that would clearly be at the TOP of our list that they arent coming. (Sark, Lanning) and now even Kiffin.

I mean at this point unless one of the above does a 180, or someone like Kirby gets pulled from the magic hat. Its painfully clear we missed our top choices.

Even if we get Deboer. There is no way he was one of our top 2-3 choices to begin the search.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. We have no idea if Dan Lanning was a top 1-3 choice by Byrne. He was by US, fans on a message board. But it doesn't mean he was by Byrne. The guy is 37 years old, has only been a head coach for two years. Compared to DeBoer, who is 49 years old and whose head coaching resume looks like this:

So why would it be a given that Dan Lanning would by higher up on Byrne's short list than DeBoer?

Did you really think anybody we pursued would jump at the chance to replace the greatest coach of all time. There is a saying the 1st guy is not the guy but the 2nd guy is when replacing a legend. I am hopeful the 1st guy will be great but to the other guys turning it down now are doing it mostly likely for this reason.

I mean techincally you are right. There is no way we'll ever know the LIST.

However i think its pretty clear to most anyone that Lanning and Sark would be two at the top, minus of course Kirby.

And i think its also clear that guys like Rees and Deboer probably were never at the top of the list.

I'm personally hoping for a 180 from someone at the top of the LIST. Even with deboers track record i'd expect to see a large portion of the team hit the portal if its him... and if its someone like Tommy Rees, then i cant even imagine.
I recommend going for a walk or a jog. Those endorphins are good for us all.

Again you are right. We will probably never know the true list.. and to go a step farther we'll probably get told this was the guy we were looking at all along.

At this point, I'd be happy with Deboer, as it looks like others on the lists are no longer a possibility.

Besides DeBoer and I’m not counting Rees because I don’t think he is an actual candidate for the opening, all of Jimmy Sextons clients that were linked to Alabama has been given a raise.
Well, for those who believe there was a plan in place, which is Saban's MO, it would make a lot of sense that Rees was attracted to Tuscaloosa by Nick telling him he is retiring in a couple of years but would stay on in an advisory role. If Byrne signed off on it then there is the scenario.

DeBoer is an offensive minded coach so I think the skill players on offense would stay. If Julian Sayin stays there's a good chance he could start as a TF in a DeBoer/Grubb offense. We'd score plenty of points. My concern is that we'd give up a lot of points as well.

Id love Sark, but seems like a longshot.
I know Sark was the OC in 2020, and that was the best offensive team I've ever seen, but he only has one conference championship as a head coach. His record is certainly not great. Perhaps he is just now maturing into a great head coach and would turn out to be great at Bama, but he does not seem to be a guaranteed success. Of course, no one is a guaranteed success. Frankly, I hope we get lucky and the new guy keeps the train running on the tracks.
