That's a good and slightly concerning thing.

Grubb is obviously part of his success at Washington, so you want both of them because it helps guarantee his offense is what he wants it to be.
The bad is how poorly Washington recruited and in fact regressed under those two. So since neither are especially good recruiters, who is going to be recruiting the offensive talent?

The pacific NW is a difficult place to recruit period and has been for years. He will have so much more to work with at Bama. The main thing is the need to establish a strong relationship with the HS coaches in the state and Southeast in general. If he’s a grinder he will be just fine. I cannot imagine him having that arrogant standoffish mentality that Harsin had. Doesn’t seem to be him at all. We about to find out!!!

Be careful. He is going to be tough to beat without a great defense. On the one hand, Alabama's offense would improve. But at Notre Dame or Auburn, with their offensive coordinators, he would be a Heisman candidate.

He's a Heisman candidate at Bama, but I couldn't care less about that. I want championships.

Time will tell but I for one am tired of 5 star receivers hitting the portal because of not getting any targets...or even being seen wide open in the middle of the field.

How good of a recruiter was Nick Saban prior to LSU? Honest question. I know he was good... Michigan State had a lot of talent. But was it on the radar that he had the potential to be the greatest as he turned into?

Yep - recruiting at Alabama is different. That said, Alabama will have to be competitive on the NIL front without Saban as the X factor.

Bored, listening to Seattle sports 93.3 in the background . They are talking more UW than the coaching vacancy with the Seahawks. Kind of sad, one of the greatest coaches of our time (Pete Carroll) retires and then gets upstaged by Alabama and Nick Saban on the national scene, now the Seahawks get upstaged again by Alabama in their home city.

That is my point - if he goes to the wrong team, you have to beat him. Still, I agree with the sentiment. IMO, Alabama would be better off without him confusing the QB situation

If we can somehow also get Grubb as OC, that would be the best possible news I can think of, short of us hiring Sark or Smart. I think Bond would have to come back if we could manage to pull Grubb. Simpson takes the reins next year while we develop Sayin. A guy can dream...

I don't want to make too much out of it, but I feel like that is exactly what we've been doing the past 3 years.

Mainly because Nick Saban's coaching staff was gutted when Sark left for Texas.

I don't think DeBoer is going to have any problem with the Atmosphere in Tuscaloosa. He's from South Dakota. My wife is from Pierre and 1/2 Lower Brule Sioux. It's pretty rural and small town. It just a lot colder.
