I envision a commissioner that would have power. There is no point in having regulations if they cannot be enforced. The way NIL is going now it is going to destroy college football. The best for Alabama and all schools is to have equitable compensation for players yet, also protect the institutions. Who wants to see a rigged system where only schools with billionaire boosters will be succeed?

I just don’t see it as a money issue. Ohio St could throw 10x what us and Georgia can and it may not be enough. I think the big decision really depends on whether he wants to play with Malachi or play for Trob. Because other than that he is a 1st rounder in 2 years anywhere he plays and money won’t be an issue.

Here’s the thing…

The guys like DeVonta Smith that really want to be here will develop a strong relationship with CKD and with each other.

Wash was a TEAM this year and those kids played their guts out for CKD.

Our 2024 Team will be the same way and I have a feeling that no matter our record we will love these guys for sticking with UA and being Crimson through and through.

All these cats dipping out will regret not being a part of this.

A wise coach once said "i never worry about the kids that don't commit and go somewhere else. I worry about the ones that did commit and are a part of THIS team." Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant. Or as Coach Saban once said "we will win with you or without you but i would like you to be a part of this"

i think when Tony T reported it was when it gained legs. It’s usually less of what is being reported and more about who is reporting it. Twitter has become infected with a bunch of digital news sources that somehow get blue check marks and just post at the first thing they hear. It becomes hard to decipher the bull crap from the gold because they usually are going off something but it’s not to the degree that they are projecting

That’s what I’m referring to. Basically you’ve been offered huge money to run the show here, or go over there and be co-DC just to be used to pull in Alabama’s players.

Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Right now, Kirby is the kingmaker, and TRob probably wants to be a HC. Schumann is already a name in coaching searches and that will only increase next year. I assume Kirby promised TRob the DC position when Schumann leaves. I speculate that’s his line of thought, put in a couple of years with Kirby, become his DC and get a good HC job.

DBs want to defend passes...

WRs didn't come to run block.
DBs didn't come to play run defense.

I would say our new coach provides the optimum opportunity for both groups...

Well we were all concerned about Coach DeBoer’s ability to recruit. We all said his first job would be to re-recruit the team. Sad to say, but so far our very best players offensively and defensively are the ones hitting the portal, and rumored to be hitting the portal. It’s made worse that it’s mostly to Sark and Smart..
