I’m not really sure if CNS will take on a role with the Yea Alabama collective but I can’t help but think he’d do an amazing job raising funds. I think some people forget but Coach Moore raised 150 million for the Crimson Tide Foundation not too long ago. Yes, there are money people that have and will contribute. We’re going to have to do it to continue to compete at a high level. Of course, the NCAA needs to step in and set a cap on what can be made per player per school. Yes that can be done. It’s done in the NFL and has been for years.

so if 50 players transfer out .. u are still limited to 25 schol limit per year?

i guess Downs schol becomes available for next 3 years .. is that right?
You can transfer in one for one, so if 50 go out, 50 can come back in.

He should establish The Saban Fund or something with his name on it. People would trust him and give. I don't trust any of the collectives. I guarantee you they are all skimmed by fat cats.

Here is the thing… When you ask the question “do you want Alabama to have a baseball team that consistently makes it to Omaha and the Supers” everyone will say “yes”. But when you tell them to support a lottery like Louisiana, Georgia, and Florida do to have an educational fund to get those necessary scholarships then everyone is suddenly afraid of people skimming the top. There is evil but sometimes there is necessary evil. Like I said… Alabama doesn’t have Ohio St’s alumni base so we can’t just tell these collectives to “go to hell” and get away with it.

The fact that we don’t have an educational lottery in this state is horrendous.

For those in the know - is there a time when Saban could have retired when a 30 day portal window wouldn’t have damaged us so bad with defections? Maybe the end of January? Unfortunately, that would impact this years recruiting class.

I went to college in the 1980s. In my opinion, and I worked in secondary education for many years, what was considered C work back then is A work now. I've seen the poor work of many students. You can't get them to turn in anything on time. I've taught some post secondary, too. Same thing. And then they question why their grade was so low or what can they do to make up work (after grades go out). What work most turn in is not even 50% effort. So glad I'm not in it anymore.
Just today I learned of an Elementary teacher being called into the Principal for issuing Cs, Ds, and Fs. The Principal stated, "We don't have any 'average' students in this school."
😇
The Principal changed the grades.
😠

Well our boosters aren’t really what many people think they are. Instead of these fat cats that people think they are they are mostly middle class people who just want a tad more access to the program than the average fan.

The truth is that in many ways the Alabama fandom has become satisfied with the product and has actively fought back against Bryne’s plans to expand it. Right now it’s either every true fan contributes something or it’s going to be a long process back in recruiting.
Just curious…but I’ve noticed that you misspell Byrne’s name in your posts. Is it a mistake, or is there some significance to “Bryne” that I’m not getting?

You can sign a top 25 class nationally and be the 13th best in the SEC.

It won't work, IMO.
I don`t think so either. Who was it that said, " It ain`t the Xs and Os , it`s the Jimmys and Joes. " ? While I`m happy that we apparently have a good strategic HC, I`m not too confident if we end up going in with a load of 3*s with a very few 4*s and a rare 5* sprinkled in against Texas, LSU, Oklahoma, UGA, etc., etc., over the next few years.

In Lake Woebegone, all the children are above average.
