I assume that the early signees are completely unfettered as to their ability to bail as well.
Yup.

"If the head coach leaves the institution or the sports program (e.g., not retained, resigns) before you trigger attendance (full-time enrollment attending classes in a regular academic term) at the signing institution or participate in preseason practice, whichever is earlier, you are no longer bound by the provisions" of the NLI.

Sayin enrolled early, so he's going to use up his free transfer. The guys who didn't enroll early are free and clear.

Of the people that are leaving, early enrollees make the most sense. They have only been on campus a month and really do not have a relationship formed with any of the coaching staff or players.

Texas, Ohio State, and LSU were the other schools he was strongly considering before signing with us.

And, ironically, because he was an early entry, whoever he goes to now likely gets to keep him, as he'll have used his one-time free transfer. (Unless that rule changes, too.)
I was in meetings all day yesterday so I don’t know if this little tidbit was shared. SIAP

Heading towards non restricted transfers it appears.

Because those large offensive linemen do so much better in pass protection?

He's at 275 on the link, so he's already started.

The truth is technique can solve a lot of issues on the line. Proper protection calls can make a big difference as well. Let's see how the team responds to the new OL coach.
Barrett Jones was neither the strongest nor the biggest, but his technique was flawless.

Goodness this is disappointing. Part of me does understand that these young men came in to play for Coach Saban, but many of the resources of the program remain for them to be successful. The Alabama brand is still powerful.
A feeling that is hard to fight is the concern/disappointment that Coach Deboer hasn’t been able to convince (recruit) these guys to stay. I get “if they don’t want I be here let them go”, but these are super talented future of the program type guys (especially Downs and Sayin), you’d expect the pitch to Sayin is pretty easy with DeBoer’s offense.

Who knew Alabama would have exactly zero Saban equity left in the program so soon after his retirement? Due to all the external factors, it sure seems like that's the case. We're right back in the middle of the pack overnight, as far as being a place kids want to go.

I guess in relation to the incredible Saban era, we have to say, "Don't be sad it's over. Just be glad it happened at all."
Middle of the pack???

This "oh poor me" attitude is getting ludicrous.

I bet Sayin was one of the first guys saban and deboer talked with. He probably told them he was going look elsewhere. Id be shocked if deboer was foolish enough to jeopardize sayin by adding mack
again th timeline suggests otherwise. He could have hit the portal anytime this week but chose the day after another QB from the freaking school the new coach came from signs on.

Definitely tough considering this is a place where the new coaching staff should be communicating to players from a position of strength. Defense was much more understandable.

This kid is going to be special, he has a blank check for anyone who wants him and they will be plenty, I said before he came to play for Saban their will be more probably after spring, Coach DeBoer probably knew this was coming more than likely why the Washington QB is coming nothing about disrespecting saying, all of college football is dancing in the streets because Bama is going down a notch or two

It really is unreal, do none of these kids want to compete anymore. These kids are transferring without even strapping on a helmet.
The insanity of all of this and of transferring before strapping on a helmet is only exceeded by NIL folks paying them $1mm+ before strapping on a helmet. Thank you NCAA PEOPLE for doing nothing and allowing this situation to exist. It's past time for the P4 schools to depart the NCAA and leave it to the dust bin of bad history (and all the wannabe schools).
