What will it be? Stadium or Field?

It shouldn’t be forgotten that CPB and CNS both coached in what was originally named Denny Stadium.
Minor nit: It was Denny Stadium from the time it opened in 1929. President Denny left in 1932. The Legislature changed it to Bryant-Denny in 1975 and Coach Bryant led his teams there until his retirement (so there's precedent for honoring still-living and still-serving heroes).

Finally read the other comments.

I've got mixed emotions about taking off Denny to add Saban to the stadium's name, but I also don't like the idea of naming the field after CNS. I mean, it's hallowed ground and all, but naming the dirt after CNS doesn't seem good enough for what he's done, which, equaled/surpassed Coach Bryant!

I'm not a fan of XXX field at YYY stadium namings. Let's find a better way to honor Coach Saban, if that's desired.

If you don't know the history of what Dr. Denny did for UA, then probably shouldn't be making suggestions about changing the stadium name from Bryant-Denny to Bryant-Saban or Saban-Bryant. His tenure as president built the platform upon which Alabama exists today.

Some summary info on Dr. Denny ...

Maybe a teaching or mentoring academy/foundation, which, of course, was named in his honor, where he might have some hands-on involvement and personally select those who would be mentors/leaders/lecturers who help high school and small college players and coaches???

I'll repost what I said in another thread, adding that I don't like the suggestions of naming the walk of champions, the plaza or similar stuff after Saban. Mainly because, outside of the university, those names will not be known. Saban deserves something that will be mentioned on every broadcast.

I just don't like it when places do the "something" field at...

Personally, drop Denny, he has the chimes. Saban-Bryant Stadium.

I know, I know. There would be way too much push back against that so, just suck it up and make it...

Saban-Bryant-Denny Stadium

No, it doesn't roll off the tongue very well but, who cares. We'd all get used to it after a couple years. I'm sure when the name was changed from Denny Stadium to BDS, it sounded and felt weird to people for a while.

Just don't do the field @ stadium thing. It's silly and nobody refers to the field part much. Just look at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. I never hear it referred to as Steve Spurrier-Florida Field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, whether it is by TV personalities, online/print media or fans.

President George Denny left a lasting legacy that can’t be ignored. But I think we should lose his name on the stadium. We will always have Denny Chimes, and that is a huge part of the University and of the football program on Saturdays as a landmark.after careful consideration I think it should be Bryant Saban Stadium Betwenn Saban Drive and Bryant Dr.
