The ones that the Iranians should worry about won't have their transponders turned on.
I get what you are saying with your last points, but are you talking about international criticism? If so I can't express how much we shouldn't care about that. Tell the UN to go fly a kite and do what needs to be done which is wiping out whatever group did this. If the UN wants to pass resolutions go ahead. They aren't worth the paper they are printed on.What a mess and one thing for sure…whatever response we take will get intense criticism.
With a big question mark as to whether we can even fund Israel and Ukraine, our enemies are emboldened to test the bounds.
Meanwhile, the Republican response has been to complicate the problem at our southern border, and refuse to cooperate on anything else.
Aren't U.S. taxpayers still accounting for almost 30% of the U.N.'s funding? Yeah, I don't think they want to rock that boat too hard.I get what you are saying with your last points, but are you talking about international criticism? I would forget to pay the bill if I was in charge. They can pack that thing up brick by brick and move it to Europe for all I care. We can salt the earth when they leave. Better yet we could turn the building into housing for the homeless. Way better use of the property.Aren't U.S. taxpayers still accounting for almost 30% of the U.N.'s funding? You can't dismiss the UN, in that it mirrors world opinion. It's easy to echo Trump, which you're doing, and say "screw the world." However, that has real-world bad consequences, financial and otherwise, not all of which Biden has managed to undo...I would forget to pay the bill if I was in charge. I’m not echoing Trump. I’ve thought the UN was a worthless corrupt organization long before he jumped into politics. They are a giant joke. Organizations like NATO can and have served a good purpose. Those types of international organizations are worth joining because they have a common purpose and goal. The UN is just a bunch of useless diplomats flapping their gums and wasting money that could be spent more efficiently by well run charitable organizations. You can't dismiss the UN, in that it mirrors world opinion. I had in mind domestic criticism. At a time of international conflict Americans used to close ranks but not with today’s GOP.I get what you are saying with your last points, but are you talking about international criticism? It's a nest of spider webs for sure. The best option, is to stop buying oil and gas from any of those countries, so their religious based governments lose wealth and power. There's nothing ever good in the long term that comes from a government based upon a religion or a petro-state.Go to Youtube.com and look up the very recent video with David Petraeus on the options we have in responding to this latest attack. NONE of them are good...they are have results that fall like dominos. The best, to destroy Iran's ability to export oil, would bring China into the mix. We have more than a few congressmen and senators who need to listen before they shoot their mouths off about what we ought to do.
Here it is..

We are not buying their oil...China and others are doing it. Oddly enough destroying their oil depot would not hurt the US for we are oil independent, being the largest producer of crude oil in the world. It's a nest of spider webs for sure. The oil market is a world wide market, and I would bet dollars to donuts we purchase oil from them some way or another from the US military to the many US companies overseas. We are not buying their oil...China and others are doing it. You are right about the worldwide market. Oil is a fungible commodity - once it's on the market, the flow is unpredictable. As long as others are importing from Russia, our boycott really doesn't make much difference. Also, we haven't much choice in importing because much of our refinery capacity is dedicated to refining heavy crude, and most of what the US produces is light, sweet crude. We're essentially trading light, sweet oil for heavy, which "fits" most of our refineries...The oil market is a world wide market, and I would bet dollars to donuts we purchase oil from them some way or another from the US military to the many US companies overseas.
