I agree. This is not life changing like the Vandy QB said after the game. It is an embarrassing loss that can be used to either propel us forward or eat us from within.
I'm afraid that for this team, for this season, it's over. Lose to vandy and you don't deserve to be in contention for the playoffs.

We should just start building for next year to make the most of that.

so far, i am not a womack fan at all. Almost without fail he'll switch our alignment from the even 4-2 front to an odd 3-3 look and we'll get killed because we either lose the edge cause our bandit and DT type guys don't have the speed/agility to really hold the edge, or they run right at the Wolf LB who is lined up over the OG cause he isn't built to deal with the doubles and traffic the IOL can create. It's maddening.
I hate to say it, but i've been worried all year about how this team would size up against a team dedicated to running the ball down our throats. i guess we saw that happen today.

fine believe whatever you want. when the beat Virginia Tech were they practicing for Bama? When they took Mizzu yo the wire were the practicing for Bama then too? You do realize they had 2 weeks to prepare for this game?
There are some stupid statements that are ingrained in Bama fans’s minds in the Saban era…

1) Bama beat Bama

2) The other team prepared 2-3 weeks for Bama.

3) The refs costed us

Yes they can be somewhat true but ultimately football games come down to execution and effort. We did neither well today and Vandy did. I think we are too caught up in our press clippings and too inexperienced at defense to win today.

That's putting it lightly.

Wommack makes Pete Golding look like a genius.

Listen:

This was a game that should've been an easy W for Alabama. They did not seal the victory because of the following reasons:

1. Lack of focus
2. Distraction
3. Players not paying attention to details.

How the heck do you allow Vandy to run the same plays over and over and over because they know we could've stopped but but the players didn't have the urgency to make adjustment and recognize that it was there for them to stop it.

The interviews, the podcast this week had me concerned. They were too confident and Saban even said it this morning. The writing was on the wall today and I pray that coaches and players take it personal and make adjustments in the practices next week.

It is time to reset the culture. It's time for players to grow up. It's time for coaches to be more strict on them.

We will be fine. But right now, we are not fine.

Franchione took a bad team he inherited from Dubose up to Nashville and barely got out of there with a 12-9 stinker. As embarrassing as that was, at least that was a dumpster fire of a team, coming off of a 3-8 season in 2000, so that result wasn't surprising. Even as awful as things were back then, we STILL didn't lose to Vandy. That's what makes this one sting worse. Heck, even at the lowest point of the Dubose and Shula days, we didn't lose to Vandy

Certainly have to win out. A loss to Vandy is likely to be the worst loss of any team vying for a spot.

Posting from a tailgate in Nashville. Haven’t read the thread.

Vandy flat-out beat us today. Outplayed us on both sides of the ball. It was no fluke…pains me to say it, but they deserved it.

Only thing to do is man up, own the oversight and make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Congratulations to the ‘Dores

I felt the same way after the Kick 6. But yet here we are. That Vandy team is not your typical Vandy team. They will have winnable games against UK, USC, MSU maybe even UF if they played like they did today.

I'm too young to remember the '87 season, but I vividly remember 2003. NIU was actually a decent team that year and we were nowhere near as talented as we are currently.

Some will say that the Louisiana-Monroe loss was worse than today's, but I disagree. Shula had run the program into the ground, and what little talent we had wasn't fully bought-in to Saban's Process.

What we witnessed today is absolutely inexcusable. It's the kind of loss that hurts recruiting and can snowball to set a program back years unless things DRASTICALLY change, and fast.

For now. I think we'll be fine. We will get in with 1 loss. I don't know why he thinks we wont make playoff with 1 loss. It's early. he's not even thinking about other team's and their schedule in November/December.

Here is something else: yeah we “went on the road” but that stadium is under renovation and has a capacity of less than 30k right now. And at least half the fans were Bama fans,

It wasn’t like we rolled into Tiger Stadium or Neyland with 90-100k hostile fans.

This was a perfect storm game. Literally everything went right for them, everything went wrong for us, and they got all the help from the officials. Can’t win games like this.
No, we just played like entitled brats who thought Vandy would fold cause we showed up with the crimson helmets. The officials called the game just fine.

The coaches didn't prepare the team

The players didn't execute worth a hoot, nor did it appear that many of them cared that much about the fact they were getting their tails kicked by VANDERBUILT.
