It's not the players in the front 6 that are the problem. it's the way they are being used. Womack slides to an odd front way to often, and just about every time, the other team takes advantage of it. If we let out edge guys be edge guys and our bigs be bigs instead of asking bigs to play out past the OT and our edge guys to play inside over the OG we might have a chance. It's been obvious from early on, but for some reason he's not seeing it.
# 42 should be out there more too...he can get penetration...but he was only played on obvious and occasional passing downs for some reason...

Come on man. We still have the best talent in the country. Just got to pull it together and get some confidence. We lost focus and got embarrassed. It happens but you got to get up and move forward, preferably positively.
This is the worst loss I can recall in over 40 years. There is nothing positive about it. Every player and coach should be walking home from Nashville.

I really wish I could make myself believe this was one of those games where we thought we could try some stuff and still get the W, but it somehow got away from us. I don’t know that that’s true though. We appear to be very fundamentally flawed on defense.
At what point do we wonder the same about the run game on O? ... much more difficult to dominate/exert your will without it

in 2015, Ole Miss was respectable. we just lost to VANDY. No matter what happens, we don't deserve to be mentioned as a playoff team if we can't take care of VANDY.
Good grief, drop the drama.

If Bama goes 11-1 they're not only in the playoffs, they're likely in the SECCG. Heck, Bama's probably in at 10-2.

One game doesn't make a team - beating UGA didn't make Bama undefeatable, losing the Vandy doesn't automatically eliminate Bama.

Goodness.

Agreed on 42 - he's flashed potential for sure, but he has to be allowed to play as an edge, not asked to line up over an OG. NONE of our edge guys should be asked to do that.

I don’t think there’s anything to be learned in film study. When you get whipped the entire game, you can’t just learn how to fix it. Just accept it, move on, and get angry.

Even Russaw struggled when they put him there.

As I have said their were two plays early that hurt us, but we only ran the ball 18 times today between Milroe, Haynes and Miller! Where was the outside runs today like we did against Georgia? The defense awful and I know scoring 35 points should win you the game, but I don't think Sheridan is that good of a OC

Exactly. Bama has a strong likelyhood to make the playoffs with a 10-2 record.

Gotta be able to take a blow. Also have to tip your hat to your opponent. Those guys came to play and we did not. Learn from it.

His use of this alignment on 3rd down made me so mad I had to leave the room at one point. I was literally telling my wife what was about to happen, then watching it happen - no adjustment.
Reminded me a lot of the D we lacked in Knoxville 2 years ago. Kept getting killed....no adjustment.

I wouldn't call this the worst loss in school history. The result is not as shocking as you might think. The Vandy OC (Tim Beck), along with Jerry Kill (consultant) did this the last two years at NMSU with Pavia and Stowers. They turned around arguably the worst team in the history of D1 in two years at NMSU. They are very creative and pick apart the most minute defensive tendencies, looking for weaknesses to exploit. At NMSU they embarrassed Liberty two years ago and Auburn last year. A whole lot of solid work went into beating Alabama. Absolutely, Alabama should not have lost. Defensively they should had some looks Vandy wouldn't know what to do with.
