Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
This is the game we need to have. We needed this game to re-establish our identity and confidence to believe in each other and just stop complaining and take one play at a time. Okay, I'm done talking about the fans.

Now for the players... Same statement. I was happy to see some changes within the players and coaches. I think they got the message. I was not expecting a blowout game last night. I had hope that it would be at least 48-13 type of game for me to have confidence in this team. but 73-0 though?

I don't care who the team was, but the fact we started fast, and we played 3 qbs, several rbs and others? Love it.

There is no QB controversy. Mack is nice. But he was throwing ball hard and behind receivers' way too much last night. Russell is improving and I think he'll be ready next year.

Names to watch next week: Riley, Brooks, Carroll and Mboumboua.
Ryan Wiliams better get his head right or the Brooks kid is going to start getting his reps.

Brooks for sure... No way RW doesn't have a drop and ruin up 17/17!

Chirgwin had a nice catch, laid out for it!

If Mbouman (sp) can develop and hold down some snaps that would be nice, he is massive and we need size on the DL.

Anyone else glad we got "beaten out" for Arch Manning? :)
I Remember us pulling out of the Arch Manning sweepstakes well before ESD, I also know the Texas fans were calling Saban all kinds of four letter words for this section of an ESPN article that dropped days before the Texas /OSU matchup.

.
The problem for Alabama was that Nick Saban -- whom the Crimson Tide assistants affectionally called "Daddy" -- was getting up there in years, and nobody knew how long he'd be there. Texas kept lingering. Competition was so fierce that everything was fair game. It was public record that Steve Sarkisian had battled alcoholism, a disease that nearly cost him his career. Sark had rebuilt his life and work in recovery. But during one Zoom call with Arch, Golding was discussing Alabama's schematics and culture, and then he went there.
"I love Sark," Golding said. "He's my best friend." He paused. "I hope he can stay sober."
After the Zoom ended, Stewart called Golding. "Pete, that's f---ed up!"
Golding knew. He had no choice.
"Daddy's on me."
-he did have a choice
- this was all Pete, and Hearsay
- I’m sure Nick was pressuring Pete to stay on Arch
- Texas fans called out Nick but that was all Pete. Goes to his character . Their anger is displaced.
- funny that Pete got a DUI around that timeframe. KARMA
- I’m glad Arch went to Texas
- lastly, a Manning will never wear a script A logo , ever. Bama is the Evil empire to them.

ok, rant over . Back to the ULm talk

I've giving this coaching staff hell this past week & deservedly so, but, when they coach our players up to the Bama Standard..It shows up on the football field with the talent we have at Bama right now..

Great job coaching staff & too our players for playing up to the Bama Standard..Even if it's an inferior opponent..

You represent Alabama at all times & we expect you too play at that standard..Even in losses..

That's all we ask win or lose..

One thing I did like was getting some of these younger guys into the game earlier…and keeping the playbook open. CNS was one that would sub in blowouts but turned it into “keep it vanilla and run clock” approach on offense.

If you’re a young guy on offense, you want to be able to show what you can do in all facets of the game, particularly at quarterback.
A Saban coached team up 42-0 at halftime would have ended 52 to10. We would have seen about 50 handoffs and if one of the runningbacks broke a long one and scored, he would get yelled at. I liked seeing the offense continue to get run like it was 0-0 and the defense and offense still playing like it was 0-0.

I’ll pick out one really irritating thing: Kirkpatrick Jr’s targeting late in the game, specifically Coach Deboer’s reaction, which was very muted, from what I could tell. He may have lit into him over it somewhere the camera wasn’t, but it’s the kind of play that Coach Saban would have blown a gasket over. Details. Sloppy. That happens on the road against a quality opponent, it can cost a game.
Saban ain't DeBoer and DeBoer ain't Saban.
People (including myself) need to quit comparing the two.
That was as much targeting as I'm the Pope.

Yeah the only thing I’d tell Kirkpatrick there is to wrap up instead of going for the shoulder bump. The effort was the important part. The penalty was arbitrary and a matter of degrees. I’d rather guys err on the side of finishing the play vs letting up early. I bet if the receiver’s Temu helmet didn’t pop off they wouldn’t even have looked at it.

I agree. After the reaction to the FSU game from the fans and pundits, CKD should win every game by the biggest margin possible. Play the backups when you can but don't handcuff them. Let them run the full offense/defense. When they know they're going to have a chance to showcase their talents, they're going to practice harder, pay more attention in meetings, and play harder. Not to mention the valuable experience they will gain for when it's their time to start.

Considering it was ULM, we did what we were supposed to do and dominate them from start to finish. I liked the team effort from start to finish and the intensity at which they played.

What I liked the most:
- #28 is a difference maker in the backfield.
- WR Brooks deserves more playing time. He's a difference maker.
- Some of the second team DL need to play. I saw more quick twitch/explosive movements from a few of those players than on the starting DL.
- Ty Simpson made several reads and throws that showed me he can be elite. Just needs more game experience.

And before anyone internally or externally tries to say the game last night didn't mean much because it was ULM. Per Gene Stallings "try losing it and see what happens".
