I think this game verified what many people though, it's certainly not a talent issue with this team. Before anyone gets too excited though, remember Alabama best Western Kentucky 63-0 last year. Games like this don't really teach you much, the real key is how a team responds to tough situations.

Having said this though, I know some people only want exciting games, but you need opponents like this. It gives you a chance to play the backups, to try out some things and to build some confidence.

No telling how things go from here, but at least this went well.

Well in games like this Saban would literally yell at his players for scoring late, heh.
It’s been a couple of years since we were this proficient throwing the football. It’s a welcomed sight.

I Remember us pulling out of the Arch Manning sweepstakes well before ESD, I also know the Texas fans were calling Saban all kinds of four letter words for this section of an ESPN article that dropped days before the Texas /OSU matchup.

-he did have a choice
- this was all Pete, and Hearsay
- I’m sure Nick was pressuring Pete to stay on Arch
- Texas fans called out Nick but that was all Pete. Goes to his character . Their anger is displaced.
- funny that Pete got a DUI around that timeframe. KARMA
- I’m glad Arch went to Texas
- lastly, a Manning will never wear a script A logo , ever. Bama is the Evil empire to them.

ok, rant over . Back to the ULm talk
Golding questioning someone else’s sobriety gave me a good belly laugh.

One thing that was proven tonight is that we have depth and talent everywhere. We’re just loaded with big time college players. Most impressed with protection of the football, and that’s 2 weeks in a row. Also impressed with pocket presence by QB’s when protection broke down. We have not had that pocket presence in 2 years. Both Simpson and Mack.
I’ll pick out one really irritating thing: Kirkpatrick Jr’s targeting late in the game, specifically Coach Deboer’s reaction, which was very muted, from what I could tell. He may have lit into him over it somewhere the camera wasn’t, but it’s the kind of play that Coach Saban would have blown a gasket over. Details. Sloppy. That happens on the road against a quality opponent, it can cost a game.
Overall great performance. Let’s see it against better teams, and in their place.
A targeting call doesn’t bother me all that much. It’s better than seeing players scared to hit anyone and being dragged down the field, which is what we saw way too much of last week. Sometimes it can put the fear of God into a receiver and make him skittish the rest of the game.

It’s the false starts and late hits that drive me nuts. Give me an aggressive player and I’ll accept a few broken dishes from time to time.

Yep! Not looking to injure opponents, but penalties of aggression can be understood unless they happen in a critical situation or become a pattern. Nick even said as much.

As several pundits said Sunday, "it's hard to complete 17 straight passes with wide receivers going against air". What Ty and the receiving group did wasn't something that just happens every Saturday.

And that's saying a lot considering how many cupcakes some of the great passing teams have played over the years. You would think the Spurrier teams would have accomplished this at some point during his run when they played East Popcorn St University. Or Peyton Manning during his time would have accomplished something like that, but he didn't. So, again, it's not something that just happens frequently.

Best performance and execution under this staff hands down. Take the opponent away this is what was needed as we have not seen execution under this staff yet. That is a positive sign. Now will it translate game to game.

Our best WRs are Bernard and Brooks. Williams better step it up.

Best RB as a runner might be Riley but Jam is an unknown. But ouch young can pass block like a mad man. Unfortunately no big runs still. Not going to count garbage time when it doesn’t matter and other team is exhausted.

proctor is just on the struggle bus still. Pass rush is still MIA. So some big concerns still. Basically both tackles are guards playing out of position. D line did well against smaller team so we will see but Smith looked good.

Wisconsin will be a very interesting game for a lot of reasons. But have to appreciate the effort and execution this past game.

I think we may well have better OTs on the roster... But young and experienced. Hoping Carroll blows up and replaces Formby at this point.

I kind of jokingly predicted us to win 63-0 in the pick the score thread, but I was expecting something like 42-10, or 38-7. You couldn't ask for a better performance and better effort after last week's game. I hope we keep this momentum going!

I think it is evidence that whatever CKD did after the FSU loss worked!

To have everyone locked in all the way down to the 3rd teamers and to finish the game with the same intensity that we started it with is something we haven't seen happen in a long, long time, even under CNS.
