The Republicans are trying every conceivable method of creating an autocracy under Trump. Our only saving grace is he screwing up this opportunity as well...

How? Making outlandish statements doesn’t make it true. No possible way , no matter the messaging on the either side. Kind of like the No Kings protests, which are ridiculous. What monarchy are we protesting? It’s all for theatre.

Read up on the particulars of the SAVE act? I'm fine with ID and think that is reasonable, but a DL should be enough. In any case, elections are given to the states, and despite years of claiming ever greater numbers of fraudulent votes, there has never been any evidence of significant fraud. And that includes highly political reviews of the Maricopa County vote in Arizona and in Georgia.

Perhaps not authoritarian beyond the fringe movements, but concerning for the future when the boundaries of democracy are attacked.

It sounds a lot like NRA zealots claiming any gun reform laws are the first step in taking our guns. Yes , supposedly the REAL ID program would be enough , I don’t know about elsewhere, but that program has been a requirement here in Georgia for awhile. I myself got caught up in an issue that had to be addressed before my license was renewed a few years ago. But I understood the reasoning for it. No I don’t know all the particulars of the SAVE act, but I do know much of them, and think the fears are unfounded.
WE THE PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF THE BICKERING AND NAME CALLING AND GRANDSTANDING , and the arguments on both sides . Without a doubt a lot of the teeth gnashing are simply anti Trump rhetoric.
I’ll add, I had to take time out of work to travel to Alabama department of health in Birmingham to a copy get my birth Certificate from South Highland hospital. It is an inconvenience. , but not impossible . After that, I had to travel to Maine to take care of some ID issues with the misspelling of my last name on official records in that state. Again, inconvenient but not impossible.

I think the REAL ID would be fine. But you should phase in the REAL ID for everyone and then change the requirements. The goal clearly seems to be affecting who can vote in the next election, which should be concerning for any concerned citizen. Again...

There is no credible data that has ever shown evidence of significant voter fraud in the US, by the Dems or the Repubs. Most audits have shown a small (something like 0.01% of the voter rolls) may be in error, usually do to someone checking the wrong form. The whole idea propagated that there are 3-7 million illegals who vote each year has no evidence at all, other than being touted over and over again on social media, which makes it true for far too many of the credulous. The Maricopa County audit was performed by an extremely conservative organization and they found a net 360 votes more for Biden!

RFK JR: Trump has encyclopedic molecular knowledge across a wide range of very eclectic interests—Broadway shows, golf…

One time, he grabbed a placemat, turned it over, took a Sharpie, and drew a perfect map of the Middle East. Then he marked the troop strength of every country along each border on that map. It challenged a lot of the assumptions I had been told about him.

He has this extraordinary depth of knowledge about what’s happening in each of the agencies—my agency and the others—and he has an instinct for making good choices.

I would also say this: I think my uncle, John Kennedy, understood the use of power better than any president before him. And I think Donald Trump understands the use of power better than probably any president we’ve had—at least since Roosevelt, and maybe in American history.

Lol. Brain worm.

Then there’s Trump, claiming not only to know Vince Lombardi but that the devout Catholic was “violent” and “got away with things” because he was a winner.

(Trump once insulted Lombardi Jr on a plane when Jr was affiliated with the USFL. Trump told Vince that Vince knew nothing about football).

He just makes it up for whatever and whenever he needs as he goes along and the people just choose their news source for their conformational bias so most never hear the truth. And that runs both ways.
