No one should be getting suspended period, these kids have to realize that no one will be immune to suspension. At least its the first game, I hope the rest of the team makes a mental note for the remainder of the season.
Mustang, maybe we should let the courts determine their respective cases first and then let Coach do his job.Just heard Saban on TV with his live press conference today. He mentioned both Keith Brown and Prince Hall had been suspended for the first game for breaking team rules.
I hate this, but I wonder why guys who broke the law aren't suspended also? Might as well get it over with.
Kind of been news about Hall for a while but I had not heard anything about Brown. However, I had heard Hall's was three games. I hope it is only one.An Aubie friend asked me about this yesterday. I thought he'd confused their depth chart status with this issue. Sounds like he knew what he was talking about.
I think you are right.I don't know if we should read too much into these suspensions either. For all we know they could be for academic reasons (not to belittle that, but it's not criminal). In addition, they may relate to an older incident and the players did not do what CNS expected of them, so they are suspended. The players involved in the recent incidents likely still have time to do what CNS asked of them and must let the judicial system aspect play out.
Jess said in his team breakdown not long ago that McClain, Prince Hall and Mustin would all play a lot. If Prince Hall had not been suspended for Saturday's game, we still needed him for depth IMHO.Although this isn't really the kind of news you want to hear in the days leading up to the first game, I don't think we are going to miss a step with either of them out of action. I have heard nothing but solid reports about McClain. He has been a freak at ILB and the only thing holding him back is getting a complete grasp of the Defense. I have a feeling that with Mustin playing so solidly at the other ILB spot, that the only way McClain would get any PT would be to take Hall's spot and this might be his chance to stay with the #1's.
I dont think it is a dedication thing, he just gets very home sick.prince hall went come to cali and was there all summer. he didnt even come back to ttown for summer session 2..which is a shocker to say the least. the defensive qb in hall being home the entire summer makes me wonder about his dedication. so rolando passed him in practice pretty easily this fallon the depth chart
Here is an article that states otherwise if I'm reading it correctly.prince hall went come to cali and was there all summer. he didnt even come back to ttown for summer session 2..which is a shocker to say the least. the defensive qb in hall being home the entire summer makes me wonder about his dedication. so rolando passed him in practice pretty easily this fallon the depth chart
Especially this summer, after staying in Alabama to get ready for the season, the former Moreno Valley High star had hoped to get back for a week after summer school.
The one who needed a plane ticket last weekend was Prince Hall Sr., who flew to Alabama to catch up with his son.
He was moved to DE. Not sure what the story is on Collins now. What about Matt Collins? Did he get moved to another position?
What?? Was he in Tuscaloosa all summer or not?
Whoa, guys, easy. I'm on your team.:eek2:What sort of "confirmation" would you like? The announcement came directly from Coach Saban's mouth. :conf3:
Gasp. Surely you jest. More important than Alabama Football. Some things are more important than football.
Yeah there was an article today in one of the papers on al.com about that. It even applies to the secretaries and everyone in the football department. When he gets recruiting really going it will become very apparent; either you do it his way or there will be someone younger and hungrier behind you that will.Seriously, when you have a Coach that is as ate up with football as Nick Saban, you better do everything you can to pick up what he is teaching you. He expects 100% dedication from not only his players, but his staff as well. BTW, he would probably make the fans run gassers if he could get away with it.
Bottom line, if you get run over by his machine, so be it. He will find somebody else that can keep up.
I am pretty good friends with several former LSU players that played under Coach Saban. They said it was nothing for him to just twist off at one of his assistants if that coach wasn't running a drill correctly or pushing the players hard enough. They told me that they really felt sorry sometimes for his staff because he really rode them hard, harder than the players. I guess that's why he had alot of turnover with those guys in BR.everyone in the football department.
